Shrirang Godbole (born 15 June 1960) is a Marathi theatre, television and film writer, director, actor, and lyricist. [1]

Career

In 1979, he started his career as a stage actor when he joined Theatre Academy, Pune. He acted in Jabbar Patel's Ghashiram Kotwal, Padgham and Satish Alekar's Mahanirvan, Pralay, Bhint, Atireki. In 1986, he started writing his own plays. He started writing for Grips Theatre Movement in India. Godbole has directed many TV serials and films. Many events including Award Ceremonies, Sawai Gandharva Sangeet Mahotsav, The PIFF Bazar are coordinated by him. Recently he has started making content for education and his company, under his guidance, has developed a content making software- CDX (Content Delivery Express). [2]

Godbole's son Suhrud Godbole is married to the Marathi film and television actress Girija Oak.[ citation needed ] His daughter Mrinmayee Godbole is a film actress.

Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai 2 is a 2015 Indian Marathi-language romantic drama film directed by Satish Rajwade and distributed by Eros International. The film is the second installment of the Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai film series before its prequel titled Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai (2010) and was followed by a sequel titled Mumbai-Pune-Mumbai 3 (2018). Released on 12 November 2015, the film stars an ensemble cast of Swapnil Joshi, Mukta Barve, Prashant Damle, Mangal Kenkre, Vijay Kenkre, Savita Prabhune, Asavari Joshi, Suhas Joshi and Angad Mhaskar. The screenplay and the dialogues were written by Ashwini Shende. The score and soundtrack album of the film are composed by Avinash-Vishwajeet with lyrics are penned by Shrirang Godbole, Ashwini Shende and Vishwajeet Joshi and cinematography by Suhas Gujarathi. Subhash Nakashe is the film's choreographer while the editing was done by Rajesh Rao. The principal photography began in February 2015 and the film marks as the most awaited film in the Marathi cinema.
