Shyamoli Cinema is a movie theater located in Shyamoli, Mohammadpur Thana of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh. Originally the area was named "Shyamoli" after this theatre.

M.A. Gaffar opened Shyamoli Cinema Hall on 26 March 1976. [1] [2] The first film shown in this 1300-seat movie theater [2] was Jaal Theke Jaala. [1] On 31 August 2007, Shyamoli Cinema Hall closed because the building was being demolished and replaced with the high-rise Shyamoli Square Shopping Mall. At the initiative of M.A. Gaffar's five sons, the cinema reopened in the mall on 14 April 2014, screening Glow of the Firefly . Modern facilities were added to the movie theater and the number of seats was reduced to 306. [2] [3] [4]

Nabab is an Indo-Bangladeshi 2017 action thriller film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and produced by Abdul Aziz and Himanshu Dhanuka under the banner of Jaaz Multimedia and Eskay Movies. The film features Bangladeshi superstar Shakib Khan as an intelligence agent from Bangladesh tasked with a secret operation in West Bengal, India and Subhashree Ganguly as a crime news reporter, Nabab's love interest. And features Sabyasachi Chakrabarty, Amit Hasan, Aparajita Adhya, Kharaj Mukherjee and Arindam Saha in supporting roles. The soundtrack album and background score of the film was composed by Savvy Gupta and Akassh. The film was released on 26 June 2017 on the occasion of Eid in Bangladesh and released in India on 28 July 2017.

Shyamoli Ideal Polytechnic Institute (SIPI) is a private polytechnic institute in Bangladesh for providing 4 years Diploma in Engineering under BTEB. The institute has been established in 1979. It has four campuses located at Dhaka, Chittagong, Rangpur, Lakshmipur.

Razmoni, a now defunct movie theater, known as Razmoni Cinema Hall, was one of the most famous in Dhaka City. It is located on VIP Road in Kakrail. Freedom fighter Ahsanullah Moni built the Razmoni Theater in Kakrail in 1972 on 24 kathas of land. Another theater named Razia was built next to Razmoni under the same ownership. The 400-seater Razia Auditorium was smaller in size than Razmoni. In addition to the auditorium, the building housed a music and sound recording studio, an image recording studio, a dubbing studio, and an editing panel. Due to the slump in the film business and continued losses, the theater was slated to close in October 2019 and be converted into a commercial building.
