Siene Allwell-Brown is a veteran Nigerian broadcaster and lawyer who was prominent in the 1970s and 1980s for her work on the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA). [1] [2]
Allwell-Brown hails from Rivers State but was raised in Aba, Abia State, attended Aba township school Aba, Abia State and A.C.M Girls' school Elelenwa, Rivers State for her primary and secondary education respectively. She attained a degree in Law from Middlesex University, London in 1984. She then proceeded to the Nigerian Law School in 1985. [1] [2]
Allwell-Brown started out as a radio presenter at the Nigerian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) on May 1, 1973 before moving on to present for the Nigerian Television Authority. She has also served as a general manager of external communications for the Nigeria Liquefied Natural Gas Limited [3] and also a general manager of Rivers State Television. [1] [2] [4] [5]
Allwell-Brown was married to Razaq Lawal and later married Nim Tariah. [2] [6]

Aba is a city in southeastern Nigeria and the commercial centre of Abia State. Upon the creation of Abia State in 1991, the old Aba township was divided into two local government areas, being Aba South and Aba North, while the suburban neighborhood of what was then known as Obioma Ngwa L.G.A. was divided into three L.G.A.s for administrative convenience. Aba South is the main city centre of Aba and Abia State at large, being located on the Aba River. Aba is made up of many villages such as Aba-Ukwu, Eziukwu-Aba, Obuda-Aba, Umuokpoji-Aba and other villages that have been merged for administrative convenience. Aba was established by the Ngwa clan of the Igbo people in Nigeria as a market town. Later, a military post was placed there by the British colonial administration in 1901. It lies along the west bank of the Aba River and is at the intersection of roads leading to Port Harcourt, Owerri, Umuahia, Ikot Ekpene, and Ikot-Abasi. The city became a collection point for agricultural products following construction of a British-made railway running through it to Port Harcourt. Aba is a major urban settlement and commercial centre in its region, which is surrounded by small villages and towns. The indigenous people of Aba are the Ngwa. Aba is well known for its craftsmen and is the most populous city in southeastern Nigeria. As of 2016, Aba had an estimated population of 2,534,265, making it the biggest city in South Eastern Nigeria.
The Nigerian Television Authority or NTA is a Nigerian government-owned and partly commercial broadcast station. Originally known as Nigerian Television (NTV), it was inaugurated in 1977 with a monopoly on national television broadcasting, after a takeover of regional television stations by military governmental authorities in 1976. After declining interest from the public in government-influenced programming, it lost its monopoly over television broadcasting in Nigeria in the 1990s.

Rhema University, Aba (RU) is an accredited private, Christian university based in the city of Aba in Abia State, Nigeria. Founded by the Living Word Ministries International and licensed by the National Universities Commission in 2009 is one of the few private universities in Abia State. The university is currently operating from its take-off campus located at 153/155 Aba-Owerri Road, Aba in Abia State, with plans to develop and migrate its students and faculty to the permanent campus.
