Sierra Jackson

Sierra (Jackson)Giesler (born August 1992) is a sprint car racer from Middleton, Idaho.

Giesler began dirt track kart racing at the age of six, graduating to asphalt sprint car racing in 2006 and briefly racing late model stock cars in 2007. She has had wins at racetracks throughout the Northwestern United States and in Canada. [1] [2] [3]

Giesler holds sprint car qualifying speed records at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls, Idaho [4] and on the old track configuration at Meridian Speedway in Meridian, Idaho. [5]

Giesler is the youngest driver and first female to win the Northwest Sprintcar Racing Association championship, doing so in 2011 at the age of 19, also becoming the first Ford driver to do so. [6] She was also the inaugural Canadian-American Western Winged Sprintcars champion in 2012. [7] [8] In 2014 she finished second in the western portion of Davey Hamilton's King of the Wing Series. [9]

She is also the only female driver to win the prestigious NSRA/WWS Diamond Cup at Meridian Speedway, winning it in 2011 and again in 2014, as well as being a two-time winner of the Naylor Memorial Classic [10] and the 2012 Daffodil Cup winner at Western Speedway in Canada [11] On November 22, 2015, Jackson won the National King of the Wing race at Kern County Raceway for her first King of the Wing Series win. She finished second in the national King of the Wing standings and again finished second in the western region in 2015. [12]

The Australian Sprintcar Championship is a dirt track racing championship held each year to determine the Australian national champion for winged sprint car racing. The single championship meeting runs in either late January or early February and has been held each year since the Windsor RSL Speedway in Sydney hosted the first championship in 1963. After the first nine championship meetings were held in New South Wales, the Sprintcar Control Council of Australia (SCCA) now holds the meeting in a different state on a rotational basis, with 1972 seeing the first championship held outside of NSW at the Premier Speedway in Warrnambool, Victoria. Dirt track racing is a type of auto racing performed on clay or dirt surfaced oval tracks in Australia. The seasons tend to be from September to April. There are a large number of tracks available Australia wide, with some of the most popular ones being Perth Motorplex, Bunbury Speedway, Speedway City, Premier Speedway Warrnambool and Sydney Speedway. The richest and best known Speedway series in Australia is the World Series Sprintcars. The series was conceived by Adelaide based sedan driver and promoter John Hughes in 1986 as an Australian version of the famous World of Outlaws (WoO) series run in the United States since 1978. The most recent season was the 2014–15 World Series Sprintcars season.

He competes in the World of Outlaws Sprint Car Series and United States Auto Club (USAC) National Midget Series for Matt Wood Racing. Prior to racing nationally, much of his dirt racing participation came in his home state of California, which included winning track championships and the California Sprint Car Civil War Series in 2014.
