The park was once former colliery land in Coseley that was obtained from the Earl of Dudley in December 1930 and turned into a public park. [1]
It was named in honour of King George V's Silver Jubilee in 1935 and was officially opened on 28 May 1936 by the chairman of the Parks and Open Spaces Committee. King George V had died only four months before the park was opened to the public.
Silver Jubilee Park now has an outdoor gym, an activity centre that runs free activities and two tennis courts. There is also a children's play area, skate park and a multi use games area. [2]

Princes End is an area of Tipton, West Midlands, England, near the border with Coseley, which was heavily developed during the 19th century with the construction of factories. The population of the Sandwell ward taken at the 2011 census was 12,981. Several hundred terraced houses were built around the same time to accommodate the factory workers. Many council houses were built in the area between 1920 and 1980, as well as many private houses.

The King's Stamp is a 1935 short film produced by Alberto Cavalcanti under the auspices of the GPO Film Unit and directed by William Coldstream. It was commissioned as part of the celebrations of the Silver Jubilee of George V in 1935. The music was composed by Benjamin Britten.
The Silver Jubilee of George V on 6 May 1935 marked 25 years of George V as the King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India. The Jubilee was marked with large-scale and popular events throughout London and the rest of the United Kingdom in May 1935. It was the first ever Silver Jubilee celebration of a British monarch in history. The King died less than a year later.
