Flickerpix is a multi-media animation company based in Holywood, Northern Ireland. Currently led by Creative Director Johnny Schumann, Flickerpix have produced a wide range of projects including On The Air; a mix of stop motion and 2D animation based on the Gerry Anderson (broadcaster) BBC Radio Ulster show. They have also produced the BBC Northern Ireland series Five Fables; an adaptation of Seamus Heaney's translation of five medieval Scots fables. This was narrated by acclaimed comedian/ actor Billy Connolly and scored by Belfast-born pianist Barry Douglas. Their collaboration with CBBC Newsround for the special Living with Alcohol went on to be awarded a BAFTA.
The Next Step is a Canadian teen drama series created by Frank Van Keeken, that originally premiered on Family Channel on March 8, 2013. Presented in a pseudo-documentary style influenced by reality television, the series follows the members of a troupe from the titular dance studio, as they train for and compete in various championships, while dealing with rivalries and drama from other dance schools and even among the team itself.
Katie Morag is the television adaptation of the series of books by Mairi Hedderwick. The programmes follow the adventures of Katie Morag whose life on the fictional Scottish island of Struay is full of stories of jealousy, bravery and rivalry and peopled by an annoying little brother, busy shopkeeper parents, a perfectly perfect best friend and a couple of grandmothers who between them know everything about everything. The series was produced by Move On Up with support from BBC Scotland and commissioned by the BBC's CBeebies and CBBC channels. It also airs on the BBC's Gaelic channel BBC Alba and BBC One Scotland. Don Coutts directed the series which Margaret Matheson produced and Lindy Cameron executive produced and edited. Katie Morag is also available on BBC iPlayer for over a year.
Blacknorth is an animation and visual effects (VFX) studio based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. It was founded in 2009 by Kris Kelly and Evelyn McGrath, with the latter leaving in 2013.
Hetty Feather is a British children's drama series, based on the novel of the same name by Jacqueline Wilson. Set in the Victorian era, it focuses on the life of the title character who was abandoned as a baby, lives first in a Foundling Hospital in London, and later works as a maid for a rich family in their home. The first series aired from 11 May 2015 to 6 July 2015. The series began airing in the United States on BYUtv in 2018. The show concluded with a three-part special which served as the series' sixth and final season.
The Dengineers is a British children's television series which airs on CBBC and sees the production team design themed dens or play houses for children. There have been seven series aired to date, with the most recent hosted by Meryl Fernandes and Joe Swash and previous hosts being Lauren Layfield, Mark Wright and Joe Tracini. The designers are currently Tony Broomhead, Satwinder Samra, Maral Tulip, Emma Kosh, Anthony Devine, Lynsey Ford, Martin Bell, Sahiba Chadha and formerly Dee Saigal, Sege Rosella and Olga Skumial. The series is similar to DIY SOS and Grand Designs, with the help of expert designers and builders and the youngsters themselves, the Dengineers team will then construct an extraordinary den, either completely from scratch or by transforming an existing room in the home. Each episode is themed, with designs such as an old-fashioned railway station, a 1960s American diner and an Australian outback shack.
Matilda Elizabeth Ramsay is an English television presenter, chef and social media influencer best known for presenting the BBC cooking show Matilda and the Ramsay Bunch on CBBC alongside her family. Ramsay has made numerous television appearances including This Morning, Gordon Ramsay's Home Cooking, Blue Peter, MasterChef Junior, Friday Night Jazz, and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Her parents are Tana Ramsay, a cook book author, and Gordon Ramsay, a celebrity chef. She resides in both the United Kingdom and the United States with her family and was a contestant on the nineteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing. Ramsay was also a contestant on Celebrity MasterChef Australia, where she reached the final.
Nate Is Late is an animated television series created by Sylvain Huchet and Peter Saisselin. The series is produced by Watch Next Media and distributed by KidsFirst. The series originally aired on France 4, Super RTL, and 9Go!.
Holly Hobbie is a children's television series developed by Sarah Glinski. It is the second television adaptation of the Holly Hobbie franchise after Holly Hobbie & Friends. The series is produced by Aircraft Pictures, in association with Cloudco Entertainment and Wexworks Media, and marks the first time Cloudco has produced a live-action series based on one of its properties. The show was released in the United states on Hulu in November 2018, and in Canada on Family Channel in January 2019. The second season was released on Hulu in November 2019. In early 2021, the series was renewed for a third season, which premiered on Hulu on November 23, 2021. It was further renewed by BYUtv for a fourth season, which premiered in May 2022, and a fifth season, which premiered in August 2022.
Malory Towers is a 2020s British-Canadian historical drama television series based on the eponymous book series of the same name by Enid Blyton.
Dodger is a British family comedy drama series, inspired by the Artful Dodger from the novel Oliver Twist by Charles Dickens. The series serves as a prequel to the events of Oliver Twist. The first 10 episodes launched on 9 February 2022, on BBC iPlayer and were repeated on BBC One. Series One was followed by three specials, ‘Train’ in November 2022, ‘Christmas’ in December 2022 and ‘Bad Egg’ on Easter Saturday 2023 on BBC One. The series cast was led by Christopher Eccleston as Fagin and Billy Jenkins as Dodger.
Nova Jones is a British musical science-fiction television series which airs on CBBC, created by Helen Serafinowicz. It focuses on the adventures of the titular galactic pop singer in the year 9009, portrayed by Molly Rainford. It began broadcast on 22 September 2021. It has since been renewed for a second and third series.
Ruby and the Well is a family fantasy TV show on BYUtv, premiered in America on February 27, 2022. The show features a present-day teenager whose father inherits an orchard in Emerald. This leads to the two moving to Emerald where Ruby discovers a wishing well. Once she makes contact with the wishing well, Ruby becomes the new keeper of the well and must grant the wells wishes so that the town can prosper. Season one and season two both contain ten episodes, with season 2 having been picked up before season 1 even debuted. On May 2, 2023 it was announced that the show had been renewed for season 3 on the show's Instagram page. On August 9, the show's Instagram page announced season 3 would premiere on BYUtv in September 30. On September 9, 2023, BYUtv officially announced that 'Ruby and the Well' has been renewed for a fourth season. The filming will take place in Toronto, Ontario. While they have not yet revealed the full production schedule or season release date, production is underway. In August 2024, BYUtv began playing video clips showing the new season will premiere Sunday, September 8, 2024. As with seasons 2 and 3 it'll be made available first through the App and website. Episodes will premiere on Family Channel weekly beginning a day later Monday, September 9, 2024.
A Kind of Spark is an Irish-British-American-Canadian children's television series created by Anna McCleery, based on the novel by Elle McNicoll. It is produced by Canadian-based 9 Story Media Group co produced with Irish-based Brown Bag Films in association with Scotland-based LS Productions and American tv channel BYU TV for the CBBC. The series follows Addie, a young autistic girl who wants a memorial in her village for the witches who were persecuted there.
