The Dadin Kowa Dam is located in Yamaltu Deba local government area of Gombe State in the North east part of Nigeria. Dadin Kowa is 41.6 kilometers from Gombe metropolis. The dam is located about 37 kilometers to the east of the town Gombe and 5 km from the Dadin Kowa village, and provides drinking water for the town. The dam was completed by the federal government in 1984, with the goal of providing irrigation and electricity for the planned Gongola sugar plantation project.

She served in the 8th and 9th Assemblies of the Nigerian House of Representatives representing Dukku and Nafada Federal constituency, Gombe State, Nigeria. She was the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Electoral and Political Parties. She was defeated in the 2023 House of Representatives elections in her reelection bid.

The 2019 Gombe State gubernatorial election occurred in Nigeria on 9 March 2019, the APC nominee Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya won the election, defeating Usman Bayero Nafada of the PDP. Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya emerged APC gubernatorial candidate after scoring 859 votes and defeating his closest rival, Mohammed Jibrin Barde who received 463 votes. He picked Manasseh Daniel Jatau as his running mate.

The 2019 Nigerian Senate election in Ekiti State held on February 23, 2019, to elect members of the Nigerian Senate to represent Ekiti State. Usman Bello Kumo is a Member of House of Representatives representing Akko federal constituency of Gombe State. He holds a degree in Law obtained from Bayero University, Kano. He started politics with campus politics at Bayero University, Kano where he became the President of the Student Union Government of the University in 1997/1998 academic session. He was the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Police Affairs, the same position he held in the Seventh Assembly and a former two times Chairman of Akko Local Government Area. He was born in Kumo, headquarters of the Akko Local Government Area. He is the only APC Member House of Representatives that Returns Elected in the 2023 general elections in the State.
