Simon Morriss (born 21 August 1985 in Brisbane,Queensland) is an Australian pitcher for the Brisbane Bandits.
Morriss made his Claxton Shield debut in 2008 for the Queensland Rams. He continued to pitch for the Rams until the formation of the Australian Baseball League in 2010. Named as pitching captain for the Bandits,he made his debut on opening night against the Perth Heat where he pitched two hitless innings to record the save. Throughout the season,he was used intermittently as starting pitcher,long reliever,setup pitcher and closer going 2–1 and 2 saves with a 5.63 ERA. Morriss fared much better at home with a 2.37 ERA,with his ERA inflated by extremely hitter-friendly ballparks such as the Melbourne Showgrounds. [1]
Morriss works full-time at his own carpentry business. His father Greg is also a scout for the Houston Astros. [2]
David Wayne Nilsson is an Australian retired professional baseball catcher and current manager of the Australia national baseball team and the Brisbane Bandits. He played for Major League Baseball's Milwaukee Brewers from 1992 to 1999 and was an All-Star in 1999,becoming the first Australian player to appear in an All-Star game. He ended his Major League career on 3 October 1999 with 837 games played,789 hits,105 home runs and a .284 career batting average.

The Brisbane Bandits were a foundation team in the Australian Baseball League which was bought by a private owner and shut down in 1999. The Bandits have now been resurrected as a team in the new Australian Baseball League which is due to start in November 2010. The Bandits won the ABL Championship in 1994 and finished 2nd in 1997,going down to the Perth Heat in the championship series. The Bandits only competed in the first 9 ABL Championships,but had intentions of re-joining the ABL Championship in following Seasons.

Robert "Bob" Nilsson was the oldest of the four Nilsson brothers and one of the greatest relievers in the history of Australian baseball leagues. Bob's brother Dave Nilsson was the first Australian All-Star in MLB,his brother Gary Nilsson played in the minors and Ron Nilsson also played in Australia for one year. Bob's son Jay Nilsson began his minor league career in 2006.

The Brisbane Bandits are a professional baseball team in Brisbane,Queensland that plays in the Australian Baseball League and is one of the six founding teams of the league. From the 2010/11 season till the 2012/13 season their home ballpark was the Brisbane Exhibition Ground,the ground which the old Brisbane Bandits played at for the majority of their nine-year tenure. As of the start of the 2013/14 the Bandits home ground is Holloway Field in Newmarket.
