Gabriele Simone Masi (born February 20, 2002) is a Canadian soccer player who plays for Burnaby FC in League1 British Columbia.
Masi played youth soccer with the Italian Canadian Sports Federation, Cliff Avenue United FC, Coquitlam Metro-Ford SC, and Mountain United FC before joining the Vancouver Whitecaps Academy in August 2019. [1] In addition, he also played with the British Columbia provincial team. [1]
In January 2021, he committed to attend Simon Fraser University and play for the men's soccer team, beginning in the fall. [2] [3] On November 13, 2021, he scored his first university goal, in a victory over the Western Washington Vikings. [4] At the end of the season, he was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference First Team (being the only freshman named to the team), the D2 All-West Region Team, and was also named SFU's Freshman of the Year. In March 2022, Masi signed a professional contract with Whitecaps FC 2 in MLS Next Pro. [8] [9] On March 26, 2022, he made his professional debut against Houston Dynamo 2. [10] On April 24, 2022, he scored his first professional goal in a victory over Sporting Kansas City II. [11] His contract expired after the 2023 season, [12] and he began playing at the senior amateur level with Columbus FC Vancouver in the Vancouver Metro Soccer League. [13]
In February 2024, he signed with Italian Serie D club Pistoiese. [14] [15] He made his debut on February 18 in a 0-0 draw against Mezzolara. [16] [17]
In June 2024, he began playing with Burnaby FC in League1 British Columbia. [18]

The SFU Red Leafs or Simon Fraser Red Leafs teams represent Simon Fraser University (SFU), which is located in Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada. The Red Leafs are members of NCAA Division II and are the only Canadian university affiliated with the U.S.-based National Collegiate Athletic Association. The teams previously used the nicknames "Clan" and "Clansmen," which were used as a tribute to the Scottish heritage of the university's namesake, Simon Fraser. The names were retired in 2020 due to the negative connotation surrounding those terms. In September 2022, the updated nickname "Red Leafs" was announced.
Swangard Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Central Park in Burnaby, British Columbia. Primarily used for soccer, rugby, football, and athletics, the stadium also used to be home to the Simon Fraser Clan football team and the Vancouver Whitecaps while they were in the Canadian Soccer League (CSL) and various US-based Division 2 leagues.
