Simone Petrangeli (born 8 June 1975) is an Italian politician and Lawyer. [4] He is member of the Left Ecology Freedom.He was born in Rome, Italy. He has been the Mayor of Rieti from 2012 [5] until 2017.
Rieti is a town and comune in Lazio, central Italy, with a population of 47,700. It is the administrative seat of the province of Rieti and see of the diocese of Rieti, as well as the modern capital of the Sabina region.

He was successful at senior level at a young age, winning a long jump bronze at the 2006 IAAF World Indoor Championships before becoming the European Champion later that year.
