Sir Georg Solti was a Hungarian-British orchestral and operatic conductor, known for his appearances with opera companies in Munich, Frankfurt and London, and as a long-serving music director of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. Born in Budapest, he studied there with Béla Bartók, Leó Weiner and Ernő Dohnányi. In the 1930s, he was a répétiteur at the Hungarian State Opera and worked at the Salzburg Festival for Arturo Toscanini. His career was interrupted by the rise of the Nazis' influence on Hungarian politics and, being of Jewish background, he fled the increasingly harsh Hungarian anti-Jewish laws in 1938. After conducting a season of Russian ballet in London at the Royal Opera House he found refuge in Switzerland, where he remained during the Second World War. Prohibited from conducting there, he earned a living as a pianist.
Vilmos Szabadi is a Hungarian violinist who has enjoyed an international reputation since the 1980s.
Michael Ponti was a German-American classical pianist. He was the first to record the complete piano works by Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninoff and Scriabin. He made more than 80 recordings, around 50 of rarely played concertos from the Romantic period, often the only recording of these works at the time. He played and recorded chamber music with his Ponti-Zimansky-Polasek Trio.

Paul Chiang or Chiang Ching-po is a Taiwanese symphony orchestra conductor, producer, chamber musician and violinist. He recently made his New York debut on June 19, 2007 at Carnegie Hall, conducting the New England Symphonic Ensemble in a programme featuring Beethoven and Mozart. His other major professional forthcoming engagements in Europe include a concert at the historic Teatro Olimpico in Vicenza, Italy, conducting the theatre's orchestra, as well as an appearance with another of Italy's professional orchestras the Magna Grecia Symphony Orchestra in Taranto, Italy. Chiang is also the Founder and Artistic Director of Philharmonia Moments Musicaux of Taipei, Taiwan.
The Chicago Symphony Chorus began on September 22, 1957, when the Chicago Symphony Orchestra (CSO) announced that Margaret Hillis would organize and train a symphony chorus. The music director Fritz Reiner's original intent was to utilize the chorus for the two weeks of subscription concerts that season, performing George Frideric Handel's Messiah in December and Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem in April. When Bruno Walter informed the orchestra's management that his March 1958 appearances would be his last in Chicago, the board president, Eric Oldberg, insisted that Walter conduct Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem utilizing the new chorus. During that first season, it was logistically impossible for Hillis to audition and prepare a new Chorus for three major works within less than four months. As an interim fix, the Apollo Chorus of Chicago was used for the Christmas Messiah concerts.

Shi-Yeon Sung is a South Korean classical conductor. In 2006, she became the first woman to win first prize in the Sir Georg Solti International Conductors' Competition. In 2007, she won second prize in Bamberg's Gustav Mahler Conducting Competition. That year, she became the first female assistant conductor of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, a post she held through 2010. Among the orchestras she has conducted are the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and the US National Symphony Orchestra. She was the associate conductor of the Seoul Philharmonic from 2009 to 2013. She has served as the artistic director and chief conductor of Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra since January 2014. in 2022, she was appointed to the role of Principal Guest Conductor of the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra.

The International Violin Competition Leopold Mozart in Augsburg is an international violin competition, held every three years in commemoration of Leopold Mozart (1719–1787), the father of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It is the goal of the competition to encourage young violinists and to promote Augsburg's reputation as a German Mozart city. The competition is a member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions (WFIMC) in Geneva. It is run by the Leopold Mozart Board of Trustees in cooperation with the city of Augsburg and the Leopold Mozart Center of the University of Augsburg. Further partners are the Bavarian State Ministry for Science, Research and Art, the District of Swabia, Bavarian Radio and the University of Augsburg.

The Tokyo International Music Competition is a music competition held in Tokyo, Japan. It has been organized by Min-On Concert Association. Competitions have been held in the three areas of conducting, singing, and chamber music, and competitions in conducting are currently being held on a triennial basis. The Tokyo International Music Competition for Conducting has become an official member of the World Federation of International Music Competitions in 2014.
