Sirajul Islam (1944-2 June 1996) was a Awami League politician and the former Member of Parliament of Dinajpur-2 and Panchagarh-1. [1]
Sirajul Islam was born in 1944 in Mahajan Para of Maidandighi Union,Boda Upazila located in Panchagarh district. His father's name is Imaz Uddin Ahmed and mother's name is Kabijan Necha. He was the fifth among seven sisters and two brothers.
Sirajul Islam's only brother Nurul Islam Sujan is a Member of Parliament for Panchgarh-2 Constituency and Rail Minister.
Islam was elected to parliament from Dinajpur-2 as a Awami League candidate in 1973 and 1979. [2] He was elected to parliament from Panchagarh-1 as a Awami League candidate in 1986. [3]
Bir Muktijoddha Sirajul Islam Stadium and Bir Muktijoddha Sirajul Islam Railway Station (Main railway Station of Panchagarh) were named after him. [4]
Abdul Kader Siddique is a Bangladeshi politician. He served as a Mukti Bahini member and organizer of the Bangladesh Liberation War. He fought with an estimated 17,000-strong guerrilla force in the Tangail region against the Pakistan Army. The army was called Kaderia Bahini.
