Madurai, formerly known by its colonial name Madura is a major city in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is the cultural capital of Tamil Nadu and the administrative headquarters of Madurai District, which is governed by the Madurai Municipal Corporation established in 1 November 1866. As of the 2011 census, it is the third largest metropolis in Tamil Nadu after Chennai and Coimbatore in terms of population and 27th largest urban agglomeration in India. Located on the banks of River Vaigai, Madurai has been a major settlement for two millennia and has a documented history of more than 2500 years. It is often referred to as "Thoonga Nagaram", meaning "the city that never sleeps".

Tamil Jains are ethnic-Tamils from the Indian state of Tamil Nadu, who practice Jainism,. Sivaganga is a City and headquarters of the Sivaganga district in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is known for the 16th-century Sivagangai Fort, located in City Centre. Inside the fort, the Rajarajeshwari Amman Temple features many ornate sculptures. Nearby, the Government Museum has prehistoric relics and natural history displays. The Marina Arena, also officially named as Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium is a multi-purpose stadium in Chennai, India. It has a capacity of 40,000. It mostly hosts football matches and athletic competitions. The complex also houses an indoor stadium with a seating capacity of 5,000 which hosts volleyball, basketball, and table tennis games. The stadium is also used for functions and concerts. The stadium is named after Jawaharlal Nehru, India's first Prime Minister. It was known as the Corporation Stadium till the 1980s. The stadium earlier hosted cricket Test matches between 1956 and 1965. As of 19 August 2017, it has hosted 9 Tests.

He was nicknamed as Black Panther because of his ferocious attacks in 1962 Asian games held in Jakarta. He was named Asia's No 1 player in 1962. He was the first player to receive the Arjuna Award in 1961 in the volleyball category. He was the coach for Sivaganga district in Tamil Nadu before retiring in 1998.
Friends Volleyball Club is a volleyball club based in Puduvayal, Tamil Nadu, India. It was founded in 1986 by Jayakumar Krishnan. He studied in Ramanathan Chettiar Higher Secondary School in Puduvayal. This club is promoting volleyball and athletics in this region. This club conducts state level volleyball tournaments every year. Some of the best players in the country participated in these tournaments and represented this prestigious club.
Muthuvel Karunanidhi Alagiri, commonly known as M. K. Alagiri, is an Indian politician from Tamil Nadu and was a Union Cabinet Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers from 28 May 2009 to 20 March 2013. The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is a men's Twenty20 (T20) cricket league that is annually held in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is organised by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association and contested by eight city-based franchise teams. The inaugural season was held in 2016. It is usually played in July–August every year.
The Tamil Nadu Football Association, formerly the Madras Football Association, is one of the 36 Indian state football associations that are affiliated with the All India Football Federation. The TNFA administers football in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It sends state teams for Santosh Trophy and Senior Women's National Football Championship.
