SKELETONS: Museum of Osteology was [1] a museum attraction located in Orlando, Florida and Central Florida's largest natural history museum. Opened in May 2015, [2] this was one of the two skeleton museums in the United States of America; the second being the Museum of Osteology. Skulls Unlimited Inc. provides a skull cleaning service, using dermestid beetles to strip the flesh from skulls and skeletons. The bones are later whitened using hydrogen peroxide. Skulls Unlimited processes approximately 25,000 skull specimens per year.
