Sky Travel and Aviation is a privately owned airline in South Sudan that was founded and began operating in 2019. It commenced operations on 19 October 2019 when it launched its maiden flight from Juba International Airport in South Sudan to Gulu Airport in neighboring Uganda. [1]

History

In October, Sky Aviation and Travel began twice-weekly flights between Juba International Airport and Gulu Airport in Uganda. [1] It is expected that as traffic picks up on this route, new service will be established between Gulu Airport and Entebbe International Airport, Uganda's largest civilian and military airport. [2]

Nasair

Nasair, officially known as Nasair Eritrea, was an airline based in Asmara, Eritrea. It operated scheduled flights to domestic destinations in Eritrea, as well as limited scheduled services to the Middle East and Eastern Africa. As of May 2014 the airline was reported to be "out of business."

Nimule is a city in the southern part of South Sudan in Magwi County, Eastern Equatoria. It lies approximately 197 kilometres (122 mi), by road, southeast of Juba, the capital of South Sudan and largest city in the country. The town also lies approximately 120 kilometres (75 mi), by road, north of Gulu, Uganda, the nearest large city.

Meridiana Africa Airlines (Uganda) Limited, trading as Air Uganda, was a privately owned airline in Uganda from 2007 to 2014. It suspended its operations when the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority (UCAA) revoked the airline's air operator's certificate.

Royal Daisy Airlines, was a private airline in Uganda. The airline is no longer in business.

Feeder Airlines was an airline based in Juba, South Sudan. It started operations on 2 June 2007 operating scheduled and charter services from Juba International Airport. The airline offered international flights to countries neighboring South Sudan, including Sudan and Uganda. After one of the aircraft operated by Feeder Airlines was written off after a runway excursion, the other aircraft used in Feeder Airlines was used to rename and make the brand new separate airline of South Supreme Airlines. One aircraft previously operated by Feeder Airlines is currently stored and another is not in use after damaging the aircraft in a 2012 accident. The company slogan was The Pride of South Sudan.

Southern Star Airlines was a domestic airline based in Juba, the capital and largest city of South Sudan. Southern Star Airlines was founded since the independence of the country in July 2011. The airline owned only one aircraft, which was one de Havilland Canada DHC-8-100, registration. Southern Star Airlines' inaugural flight took place on 20 August 2011. However, after only two months of "erratic operations", the airline closed, shut down all operations, and gave away its one and only aircraft to the Kenyan-based airline ALS.

Juba Airport is an airport serving Juba, the capital city of South Sudan. The airport is located 5 km (3 mi) northeast of the city's central business district, on the western banks of the White Nile. The city and airport are located in South Sudan's Central Equatoria State.

Golden Wings Aviation South Sudan, is a privately owned airline based in Juba, South Sudan. The carrier operates as a regional affiliate of South African carrier, Golden Wings Aviation, under a South African Air Operator's Certificate.

Uganda Airlines Ugandan national carrier


Uganda Airlines is the flag carrier of Uganda. The company is a revival of the older Uganda Airlines which operated from 1977 until 2001. The current carrier began flying in August 2019.

South Stone Airlines, is a privately owned passenger charter airline in South Sudan since 2016.
