The SKYCITY Stampede (formerly Southern Stampede) is one of the original teams competing in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League. It is based in Queenstown, New Zealand and was founded in 2005. The team was known as the Southern Stampede until 2016, when Skycity became the sides title sponsor. The team's home ice is the Queenstown Ice Arena. [1]

The New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL) is New Zealand's top-level ice hockey league. Established in 2005 by Guenther Birgel, the NZIHL is sanctioned by New Zealand Ice Hockey Federation. The NZIHL is an amateur league with players not paid to play. The NZIHL champion is awarded the Birgel Cup. The NZIHL is currently contested by six teams from three affiliated regions, including three teams from the North Island and three teams from the South Island. The most successful team in NZIHL history is the SkyCity Stampede, who have claimed eight NZIHL championships. The current champion, from 2023, is the SkyCity Stampede.
Dunedin Ice Stadium is an indoor ice sports and public skate centre, that opened in October 2004. It is located in the New Zealand city of Dunedin, in the southern suburb of Saint Kilda. The stadium is owned by Dunedin Ice Sports Inc. and is the current home venue of the Phoenix Thunder in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL) and Dunedin Thunder in the New Zealand Women's Ice Hockey League (NZWIHL). The arena is the only operational indoor ice sports stadium in Dunedin and is the most southern located Olympic sized ice rink in the World.
The Israel national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Israel. Israel was ranked 35th as of May 2017 by the International Ice Hockey Federation. In 2019, the team won the gold medal in the 2019 IIHF World Championship Division II Group B tournament in Mexico City.
The West Auckland Admirals is an ice hockey team based in Auckland, New Zealand and are members of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League. The Team has always been based out of the Paradice Ice in Avondale, Auckland which in itself has a proud 41-year operating history. In 2011 the rink completed a massive renovation which brought it to international standards and allowed the Admirals team to install their very own changing room.
The Canterbury Red Devils is an ice hockey team based in Christchurch, New Zealand, and are members of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League. The club plays their home games at the Alpine Ice Centre. Since their foundation in 2005 the team have won both the regular season title and the playoffs on four occasions with their most recent coming in the 2014 NZIHL season.
The Botany Swarm is a semi-professional ice hockey team based in East Auckland, New Zealand. The team is a member of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL). The team was founded in 2005 as the South Auckland Swarm. Their name was changed prior to the 2007 season due to it being similar to one of the other teams and to better reflect the area in Auckland where their home rink is located. They play their home games out of the Paradice Ice Skating Botany Rink known as The Hive.
The Dunedin Thunder, currently the Phoenix Thunder for sponsorship reasons, is a men's ice hockey team based in Dunedin, New Zealand and are members of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League. The club plays their home games at the Dunedin Ice Stadium. The Thunder were founded in 2008 and joined the league as an expansion team. The clubs won their first regular season title in 2013 and have finished as runner-up in the playoffs in 2013 and 2014, losing on both occasions to the Canterbury Red Devils.
The 2012 NZIHL season was the eighth season of the New Zealand Ice Hockey League, the top level of ice hockey in New Zealand. Five teams participated in the league, and the Canterbury Red Devils won their second championship by defeating the Southern Stampede in the final.
Nikita Yurevich Mikhailis is a Kazakhstani professional ice hockey forward who is currently playing for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Mikhailis began playing professionally at the age of 16 with the Nomad Astana of the Kazakhstan Hockey Championship. He played one season with Nomad, during which time he was selected 121st overall by the Barys in the 2012 KHL Junior Draft. In 2012, he began playing major junior hockey with the Barys' junior league affiliate Snezhnye Barsy of the Junior Hockey League (MHL) for three seasons. In 2014–15, he began playing for Barys and register 4 points in the regular season.
Park Jong-ah is a South Korean ice hockey player and the captain of the South Korean national ice hockey team, currently playing in the Korean Women's Hockey League (KWHL) with the Suwon City Hall women's ice hockey team. As of April 2022, she was the all-time leader in goals (41) and points scored (68) for the South Korean women's national team.
Inese Geca-Miljone is a Latvian ice hockey player, currently playing with SHK Laima Rīga. Geca-Miljone represented Latvian national team in fourteen IIHF Women's World Championships at the Division IA and IB levels. In 2017 she represented Latvian national team as an assistant coach.
Anikó Krisztina Németh is a Hungarian ice hockey goaltender and member of the Hungarian national team, currently playing with the women's representative team of IF Björklöven in the Nationella Damhockeyligan (NDHL).
The 2022 IIHF Women's U18 World Championship was the 14th Women's U18 World Championship in ice hockey.
The 2022 IIHF U18 World Championship Division III was two international under-18 ice hockey tournaments organised by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Division III A and Division III B tournaments represent the sixth and the seventh tier of the IIHF World U18 Championship.
Wang Yuqing is a Chinese ice hockey goaltender and member of the Chinese national team, currently playing in the Chinese Women's Ice Hockey League (ZhHL) with the Shenzhen KRS. She previously played in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) with Kunlun Red Star WIH and in the Zhenskaya Hockey League (ZhHL) with the KRS Vanke Rays.
Franciska Kiss-Simon is a Hungarian ice hockey player and member of the Hungarian national team. She plays in the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL) with Hokiklub Budapest.
Andrea Kiss is a Hungarian ice hockey player and coach, currently playing in the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL) with the women's team of MAC Budapest and serving as head coach to MAC Marilyn Budapest in the Austrian Women's Ice Hockey Bundesliga (DEBL). During her career with the Hungarian national ice hockey team, which spanned from 2011 to 2021, she participated in nine IIHF Women's World Championship tournaments, including the Top Division tournament in 2021.
Bernadett Anita Németh is a Hungarian ice hockey player and member of the Hungarian national ice hockey team, currently playing in the European Women's Hockey League (EWHL) with the women's team of MAC Budapest.
The Queenstown Ice Arena is an ice sports and public skate centre, opened originally in 1966 as an outdoor ice rink it was later rebuilt as an indoor arena in 1996 and is located at Queenstown Gardens, next to the town of Queenstown, Otago, New Zealand. It is the current home venue of the Skycity Stampede in the New Zealand Ice Hockey League (NZIHL) and Wakatipu Wild in the New Zealand Women's Ice Hockey League (NZWIHL). Queenstown Ice Arena is the only ice rink in Queenstown and is one of only two in Otago, along with Dunedin Ice Stadium.
The Wakatipu Wild is a New Zealand amateur ice hockey team from Queenstown, Otago, New Zealand. Founded in 2020, the Wild are a member of the New Zealand Women's Ice Hockey League (NZWIHL). The Wild are based at Queenstown Ice Arena, located at Queenstown Gardens. Wakatipu are one time NZWIHL champions and premiers.
