Slaves to Gravity were a British alternative rock band. Formed in London in the summer of 2006, [1] they played their final gig in October 2011.
Slaves To Gravity were formed by the three remaining members of London-based band The Ga Ga's, along with Mark Verney, formerly of Ariel-X, in 2006. [1] Throughout late 2006 and early 2007 the band toured throughout the UK and US, and recorded their self-produced debut album at The Chapel Studios in Lincolnshire in summer 2007.
Scatter the Crow was mixed by Chris Sheldon, and released early in 2008 on the band's Gravitas label. Four singles from the album entered the UK rock chart singles Top 10, and the band were subsequently named Best British Newcomer at the 2008 Kerrang! Awards. They continued to tour throughout 2008, playing several headline runs as well as supporting The Goo Goo Dolls, Aiden, and Icelandic band Sign.
Following an appearance at SXSW, the band returned home to begin demoing their new material. In summer 2009, Slaves to Gravity went into Monnow Valley Studios in South Wales with US producer Bob Marlette to record their second album Underwaterouterspace over three weeks. The album was mixed at Marlette's Black Lava Studio in Los Angeles, but the release was delayed by over 18 months due to personnel changes and financial constraints.
In the meantime the band, with Jason Bowld of Bullet For My Valentine as a stand-in drummer, toured the UK with Black Spiders, Lacuna Coil, Alter Bridge and Buckcherry, and played at festivals including Sonisphere and Download.
Underwaterouterspace was finally released in early 2011. Following a headline show at London's Intrepid Fox, the band announced on Tumblr that they would split, and played their last show at the Relentless Freeze Festival at Battersea Power Station on 28 October 2011.

Pitchshifter are an English industrial rock band from Nottingham, formed in 1989. The band was started by lead guitarist and programmer Johnny A. Carter, and bassist and vocalist Mark Clayden. The band's early material was characterized for its gritty industrial metal sound with downtuned guitars and the use of drum machines, and has been cited as one of the originators of the genre along with Godflesh. With later albums the group's music became increasingly more melodic and strongly influenced by nu metal and drum and bass; particularly evident of their 1998 release www.pitchshifter.com, which has been compared with groups like The Prodigy.

Bullet for My Valentine, often abbreviated as BFMV, are a Welsh heavy metal band from Bridgend, formed in 1998. The band is currently composed of Matthew Tuck, Michael Paget, Jason Bowld (drums) and Jamie Mathias (bass). Former members include Michael Thomas, Jason James and Nick Crandle; the latter were on bass. They were formed under the name Jeff Killed John and started their music career by covering songs by Metallica and Nirvana. Jeff Killed John recorded six songs which were not released; two of these tracks were reworked later in their career as Bullet for My Valentine. A change of style from that of Jeff Killed John led the band to change their name. In 2002, the band secured a five-album deal with Sony BMG. The band has stated that their music is influenced by classic metal acts such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and Slayer. The band is part of the Cardiff music scene.
Heaven's Basement was an English rock band formed in 2008 and signed with Red Bull Records. Band members included Aaron Buchanan (vocals), Sid Glover, Rob Ellershaw, and Chris Rivers (drums). The band split up in January 2017.

The Blackout's final release was a five-track EP entitled Wolves, with their farewell tour held in early 2015, finishing in their hometown of Merthyr Tydfil in March 2015.
