Sleep, or Forever Hold Your Piece was the fifth full-length LP by Sleep Chamber. The lineup on this recording was John Zewizz, Arthur PW, Jonathan Briley, Eugene Difrancisco, Lawrence Van Horn, Tione, Ashley Swanson, and Dan Walker.

Sleep Chamber is an American industrial band fronted by John Zewizz. The band is known for using S&M, bondage and magic imagery on their artwork, during their performances, and within their lyrics. Formed in 1981 by high school friends Zewizz, Eugene Difrancisco, and Phil Brosseau, over the years the Sleep Chamber lineup has changed many times with Zewizz being the sole permanent member. Previous members of Sleep Chamber have included Thomas Thorn, Michael Moynihan, Jonathan Briley and Elaine Walker. Since the beginning, Zewizz has stated that the constant lineup changes are because Sleep Chamber is not a "band", but rather a "concept".

John Zewizz is an American industrial music performer. Since the late 1970s Zewizz has recorded hundreds of cassettes, LPs, vinyl, and CD releases. He has also worked as a video director, magazine publisher, and record label owner (Inner-X-Musick).

While the release is predominantly industrial/techno, each song is separated by a nine-part ambient piece titled "Verbum Sapienti 1-9". It was recorded at Waltz Studio except "The Light Pours Out ov Me" (originally written and released by Magazine as "The Light Pours Out of Me") recorded at Newbury, and "Babylon" recorded live at Manray, Boston, on 31 December 1990.

Ambient music is a genre of music that emphasises tone and atmosphere over traditional musical structure or rhythm. A form of slow instrumental music, it uses repetitive, but gentle, soothing sound patterns that can be described as sonic wallpaper to complement or alter one’s space and to generate a sense of calmness. The genre is said to evoke an "atmospheric", "visual", or "unobtrusive" quality.

Magazine (band) English post-punk group

Magazine were an English post-punk band active from 1977 to 1981, then again from 2009 to 2011. The band was formed by Howard Devoto after leaving punk band Buzzcocks in early 1977. Devoto had decided to create a more progressive and less "traditional" rock band.

The album was pressed in the US by Inner-X-Musick on cassette (without a catalog number), and two LP versions XXX-LP-11/ XXX-LP-11-DJ (white label promo LP). It was released as a CD on Fünfundvierzig, catalog number Fünfundvierzig 51.
