Sogeti is the Technology and Engineering Services Division of Capgemini. The Sogeti Group is an information technology consulting company specializing in local professional services, with headquarters in Paris, employing around 25,000 people at around 300 branches in 15 countries. [1] [2] The current CEO is Stefan Ek, [3] and in 2011, the company turnover was 1.5 billion euros. [4]

History

Sogeti was the original name for the entire Capgemini Group. The name was an acronym for "Société de Gestion des Entreprises et de Traitement de l'Information" which, roughly means "Business Management and Information Processing Company". [5]

In 2002, the Cap Gemini Group founded a subsidiary called Sogeti in six countries to focus on the local IT market. [6] In 2008, Sogeti UK acquired software testing firm Vizuri with an aim to focus on software testing; [7] [8] currently Sogeti UK has over 600 employees. [9]

In 2010, Capgemini integrated its software testing resources with Sogeti. [10] The Sogeti Graduate Scheme allows non-technical graduates into the technology sector. [11]

Sogeti USA has around 2,300 employees in 22 offices; in 2010, their revenue was about $375 million. [12] In 2013, Sogeti was voted the 10th best company to work for in Washington State. [13]

Notable projects

In 2013, Sogeti built a bespoke data system for The Radiocommunications Agency, who are funded by the Dutch Government. The system was designed to improve business intelligence efficiency. [14]

In 2015, Sogeti helped a French mother create a universal language app. [15] [16] In 2014, French security researcher Jean-Marie Bourbon was suspended from Sogeti for publishing details of flaws in FireEye Malware Analysis System 6.4. [17] [18] [19]

Capgemini Engineering is a global innovation and engineering consulting firm founded in 1982 in France by Alexis Kniazeff and Hubert Martigny. Administrative and information consultancy accounts for 20% of its turnover with strategy and management consulting making up the rest. The firm is active in most engineering domains, particularly electronics and IT technology. In 2018, Altran generated €2.916 billion in revenues and employed over 46,693 people around the world. Since 18 June 2015, Altran has been led by CEO Dominique Cerutti. Altran was acquired by Capgemini in 2019. On 8 April 2021, they have renamed the organization as "Capgemini Engineering", due to the merger with Capgemini's Engineering and R&D services.

Norton, formerly known as Norton by Symantec, is a division of NortonLifeLock based in Tempe, Arizona. Since being acquired by the Symantec Corporation in 1990, Norton offers a variety of products and services related to digital security, identity protection, and online privacy. In 2014, Norton's parent company Symantec separated their business into two units. One was focused on security and the other was focused on information management; Norton was placed in the unit focused on security. The company originally provided utility software for DOS.

Mathias Payer is a Liechtensteinian computer scientist. His research is invested in software and system security. He is Associate Professor at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) and head of the HexHive research group.
