Roselinda Soipan Tuya (born 1982) is a Kenyan politician who served as Cabinet secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry. She was the first Maasai woman to be in the Cabinet of Kenya. [1] She was dismissed on 11th July 2024, before being nominated for the position once again on 18th July 2024. [2] [3]
She attended The Kenya High School for her secondary education (Class of 1998), then the University of Nairobi graduating with a Bachelor of Laws, and thereafter the University of Washington passing with a Masters of Laws. [4]
Tuiya served as women's representative for Narok County from 2013 to 2022. [1]
Tuya is the daughter of former Narok South MP Samson Ole Tuiya. [5]
The Kipsigis or Kipsigiis are a Nilotic group contingent of the Kalenjin ethnic group and speak a dialect of the Kalenjin language identified by their community eponym, Kipsigis. Maasai Mara, also sometimes spelled Masai Mara and locally known simply as The Mara, is a large national game reserve in Narok, Kenya, contiguous with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania. It is named in honour of the Maasai people, the ancestral inhabitants of the area, who migrated to the area from the Nile Basin. Their description of the area when looked at from afar: "Mara" means "spotted" in the local Maasai language, because of the short bushy trees which dot the landscape.

She was sacked from her Cabinet position on July 11, 2024, when President Ruto sacked every one of the country's cabinet ministers. She previously worked as Cabinet Secretary. She was elected County woman representative for Kericho County in the 2017 Kenyan general election.
