Solma is a village development committee in the Himalayas of Terhathum District in the Kosi Zone of eastern Nepal. At the time of the 1991 Nepal census it had a population of 4093 people living in 717 individual households. [1] Solma is a Village Development Committee (VDC) lies on western part of Tehrathum District. The main ethnicity distribution of this VDC is Limbu (1190), Bramans (873), Kchhetri (663), Magar (381), Gurungs(287), Newar (166), Tamang (43) Kami (119)and Dam/Darji (100), Bhujel/Gharti (47). This VDC have one high school named Ratna Higher Secondary School, one Health Post, Post Office, Agriculture and Veterinary Center.

The Himalayas, or Himalaya, form a mountain range in Asia, separating the plains of the Indian subcontinent from the Tibetan Plateau.

The altitudinal distribution and ecological distribution is the beauty of this VDC. Tea (Beautiful tea Garden in Bokre), Large Cardamom, Chiraito, Ginger, Orange, Cabbage are major cash crop and Paddy, Maize, Potato, Wheat are food crops of this VDC. The VDC is also part of Tinjure Milke Jaljale (TMJ) also called capital of Rhododendron [ citation needed ] from where you can see panoramic view of Himalayan Range with Mt. Kanchanjunga, Mt Kumbhakarna, Mt. Makalu and Mt Everest.

Rhododendron is a genus of 1,024 species of woody plants in the heath family (Ericaceae), either evergreen or deciduous, and found mainly in Asia, although it is also widespread throughout the highlands of the Appalachian Mountains of North America. It is the national flower of Nepal as well as the state flower of West Virginia and Washington. Most species have brightly coloured flowers which bloom from late winter through to early summer.

Tehrathum District District in Kirat State, Nepal

Tehrathum District, is one of 14 districts of Kirat State of eastern Nepal. The district, with Myanglung as its district headquarters, covers an area of 679 km² and has a population (2001) of 113,111. The word Tehrathum is constructed from thirteen ("tehra") and "thum". This can be spelled as Terathum, Tehrathum or Terhathum. The town supposedly is the site of one of a series of guard posts once protecting the territory of the Limbus. Therathum is a word also used to mention Myanglung Bazar which has the district headquarters of Tehrathum. Myanglung is a municipality and the district headquarters of Terhathum District of Province No. 1 in eastern Nepal. The municipality is situated at an elevation of about 1500 metres above sea level. Myanglung was converted into a municipality from a village development committee on 18 May 2014, merging the existing village development committees of Myanglung, Piple, Jirikhimti, Ambung, Sabla and Tamphula. According to the census of 2011 the total population of Myanglung is 19,659 including five VDCs.

The main ethnic groups here are Limbu, Brahmin, Chhetri, Magar, Rai, Tamang etc. The villages including Phadani, Budhabare, Kheruwa, Khaireni, Kirtiman, Kamalpur, Lokhra, Kuinkunda, Biran etc. lies here. Among them Letang Bazaar is most developed and Rajarani has religious and tourism importance being old village in Letang. This Letang Municipality is one of the developed municipality of Morang district with various utilities including drinking water, electricity, communication etc. District-famous schools and campus including Letang Campus, Shanti Bhagawati School Shree Shiksha Vikash M. V. (Kheruwa), Laxmi School, Galaxy Academy, Green Valley School, Minaruwa School, Letang Secondary Boarding School, Bal Niketan School, Pathibhara Boarding School lies here. The town Letang Bazaar is also a part of municipality. Many developmental efforts are active in this area. There is also uneven population distribution in this VDC. Many national politicians, players and film actors such as Babu Bogati, Praween Khatiwada, Ram Bhujel are also from this village. Far more, yearly Rajarani Festival (Mohatshob) is also celebrated by various organizations for its popularity and fame. There is the eastern regional training academy of Nepal Army and also the eastern regional training centre of Agricultural Development Bank, though the bank does not exist nearby.

Myanglung Campus or Myanglung college is a college situated at the heart of Myanglung Municipality of Terhathum District in eastern development region of Nepal on the lap of the Himalayas. This college has educational facilities which meet the requirements of Tribhuwan University (T.U.) of Nepal and is affiliated to T.U. Also this college is somewhat private oriented and is offering standard education like other colleges offer to its campus students. Its date of set up is 2038 B.S and the college celebrates the anniversary on right date of its establishment. It has not yet any sister college. The current college principal is Mr. Dadiram Neupane from Solma VDC.

Laligurans Municipality in Province No. 1, Nepal

Laligurans is a municipality located in Terhathum District in the Province No. 1 of eastern Nepal. After the government announcement, the municipality was established on 19 September 2015 by merging the existing Basantapur, Phulek, Dangpa, Sungnam and Solma village development committees (VDCs). The center of the municipality is established in Basantpur. At the time of the 2011 Nepal census after merging the five VDCs population it had a total population of 16,934 persons. After the government decision the number of municipalities has reached 217 in Nepal.
