Somasetty Suresh is an Indian cricketer, who has played 95 first-class matches between 1997 and 2008 [1] . Suresh, an all rounder has played Ranji Trophy matches for Assam, [2] Goa and Tamil Nadu, where he captained Tamil Nadu. [3] and has played against England A team representing Tamil Nadu Cricket Association in 2004. [4]

MA Chidambaram Stadium is a cricket stadium in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. It was established in 1916 and it is the second oldest cricket stadium in the country after Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Named after M. A. Chidambaram, former President of BCCI, the stadium was formerly known as Madras Cricket Club Ground and is also nicknamed the Chepauk stadium. It is the home ground of the Tamil Nadu cricket team and the Indian Premier League team Chennai Super Kings. Chepauk hosted its first Test match on 10 February 1934, the first-ever Ranji Trophy match in 1936 and Indian cricket team's first-ever test victory in 1952 against England. The 1986 India-Australia match held at Chepauk was only the second ever Tied Test in the history of the game.

The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is a professional Twenty20 cricket league contested in the state of Tamil Nadu in India. The league was formed in 2016 by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA). It is played during July and August of every year by eight teams representing eight districts in Tamil Nadu. Sankar Cements has been sponsoring the competition since its inception. The first season inaugurated by then Indian cricket team captain MS Dhoni was won by Tuti Patriots.

The 2019–20 Vijay Hazare Trophy was the 18th season of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, a List A cricket tournament in India. It took place in September and October 2019, after the Duleep Trophy and before the Ranji Trophy. Chandigarh competed in the Vijay Hazare Trophy for the first time. Mumbai were the defending champions.
