Somdutta Singh is an Indian businesswoman and author. [1] [2] She is known for facilitating the creation of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) by the Government of India in collaboration with NITI Aayog. [3] [4]

Career

Singh started her career as a vice-chairman of Nasscom Product Council. [5] She served as Chief Advisor of Bloomberg Quint. [6]

In 2013, she co-founded Unspun Group at Bangalore, India and Assiduus Global in Atlanta, Georgia. [7]

Singh is a member of Entrepreneurs' Organization and Young Presidents' Organization. [8]

In 2021, she ranked in Times 40 Under 40 and featured in Fortune India's 50 Most Powerful Businesswomen edition. [9]

In 2023, Singh has been awarded Champions of Change for driving social development in India. [10] She was named among India's 100 most influential women innovators and entrepreneurs in 2023 by Business World [11]

The Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) is a unified access portal which brings together women from different regions of India, across economies to realize their entrepreneurial aspirations. The idea of the Platform was first mooted by Shri Amitabh Kant, CEO, NITI Aayog who announced the setting-up of a Women Entrepreneurship Platform in NITI Aayog at the conclusion of the 8th Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) held in Hyderabad in 2017.
