Basil Ewing Hayden was an American college basketball player and coach. A Kentucky native, he began playing the sport in the sixth grade and, after a year at Transylvania University, transferred to the University of Kentucky to study chemistry and play on the school's basketball squad. He captained the team to victory at the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Association Championship and was named an All-American for his efforts – the first basketball player to earn the honor at the University of Kentucky.

The Michigan Wolverines Men's Basketball team is the intercollegiate men's basketball program representing the University of Michigan. The school competes in the Big Ten Conference in Division I of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). The Wolverines play home basketball games at the Crisler Center in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Michigan has won one NCAA Championship as well as two National Invitation Tournaments (NIT), 14 Big Ten Conference titles and two Big Ten Tournament titles. In addition, it has won an NIT title and won a Big Ten Tournament that were vacated due to NCAA sanctions. The team is coached by Juwan Howard.

Jenny Hansen is an American stuntwoman and retired gymnast from Somerset, Wisconsin. Born in 1973, Hansen won three consecutive NCAA All-Around Championships between 1993 and 1995, the only person to ever win three straight All-Around titles. She attended the University of Kentucky from 1992 until 1996 and has since been named to the UK's Athletic Hall of Fame. Hansen won a total of eight national titles and nine Southeastern Conference championships during her collegiate career. She is a thirteen time All-American and was named the Most Outstanding Gymnast over the past 25 years of NCAA competition in 2006.

Patty Rivard Schachtner is an American first responder and Democratic politician from Wisconsin. Schachtner currently serves as a member of the Wisconsin State Senate for the 10th District, representing several counties in northwestern Wisconsin and in the Twin Cities exurbs. Schachtner is a former member of the Star Prairie Town Board, former St. Croix County Medical Examiner, and a former member of the Somerset School Board
