Nepal, officially the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal, is a landlocked country in South Asia. It is mainly situated in the Himalayas, but also includes parts of the Indo-Gangetic Plain. It borders the Tibet Autonomous Region of China to the north, and India to the south, east, and west, while it is narrowly separated from Bangladesh by the Siliguri Corridor, and from Bhutan by the Indian state of Sikkim. Nepal has a diverse geography, including fertile plains, subalpine forested hills, and eight of the world's ten tallest mountains, including Mount Everest, the highest point on Earth. Kathmandu is the nation's capital and the largest city. Nepal is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual, multi-religious and multi-cultural state, with Nepali as the official language.
Birendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev, was the tenth King of Nepal from 1972 until his assassination in 2001. He was the eldest son of King Mahendra.
Sagarmāthā National Park is a national park in the Himalayas of eastern Nepal that was established in 1976 and encompasses an area of 1,148 km2 (443 sq mi) in the Solukhumbu District. It ranges in elevation from 2,845 to 8,848 m and includes Mount Everest. In the north, it shares the international border with Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in Tibet Autonomous Region. In the east, it is adjacent to Makalu Barun National Park, and in the south it extends to Dudh Kosi river. It is part of the Sacred Himalayan Landscape.

The city also serves as the headquarters of Kaski District. Pokhara is located 200 kilometres west of the capital, Kathmandu. The city is on the shore of Phewa Lake, and sits at an average elevation of approximately 822 m above sea level. The Annapurna Range, with three out of the ten highest peaks in the world—Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I and Manaslu—is within 15–35 mi (24–56 km) aerial range from the valley.
Rajesh Hamal is a Nepalese film actor and television host. He is a popular actor in Nepali cinema and he is known as "Maha Nayak" of the Nepali film industry(महानायक)" in Nepal. Hamal started his acting career in 1991 and peaked in the 1990s and early 2000s. He holds several box office records in Nepali cinema, including the most commercially successful films as a lead actor, most consecutive hits, and most awards as an actor.

Langtang National Park is a national park in north-central Nepal. It was established in 1976 as Nepal's first Himalayan national park and the country's fourth protected area. It covers an area of 1,710 km2 (660 sq mi) in the Nuwakot, Rasuwa and Sindhulpalchok Districts of the central Himalayan region. It contains 26 village communities and includes the Langtang valley. In the north and east it is linked with Qomolangma National Nature Preserve in the Tibet Autonomous Region. The eastern and western boundaries follow the Bhote Koshi and the Trishuli river, respectively.

Baikuntha Manandhar is a Nepali marathon runner. He competed in four consecutive Olympic Games, from 1976 to 1988. He has won three consecutive gold medals in South Asian Games making a record. His record was broken by Deepak Bista by securing four gold medals consecutively in Taekwondo.
Karishma Manandhar is a Nepalese actress. She made her acting debut at the age of 15 in the 1988 Nepali film Santaan.
Bruno Messerli was a Swiss geographer and university professor who focused on high mountains and highland-lowland linkages. He was appointed Full Professor of Geomorphology in 1968 by the University of Bern, where he taught and carried out research until his retirement in 1996. He contributed significantly to the inclusion of a mountain agenda, Chapter 13 — Managing Fragile Ecosystems — Sustainable Mountain Development in Agenda 21, the official action plan of the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), also known as the Rio de Janeiro Earth Summit, the Rio Summit, the Rio Conference, and the Earth Summit, held in Rio de Janeiro from 3 to 14 June in 1992.
Kanchan Amatya is a Nepalese women's rights advocate, climate justice activist and social entrepreneur. She is the Founder and executive director of Sustainable Fish Farming Initiative (SFFI), a female-owned social enterprise working to fight hunger and poverty in Nepal by empowering women farmers in Nepalese rural villages through sustainable fish farming practices. She also currently serves as the UN Women's Global Champion for Women's Economic Empowerment and UN Zero Hunger Champion
Nepal POMSOGIESC Pride Parade known as Nepal Pride Parade in short, is organized on every second Saturday of June. The Pride March is organized by Queer Youth Group in collaboration with Queer Rights Collective. Since 2020, Campaign for Change has also been involved. This Pride March marked establishment of first independent Pride Parade in Nepal.
Laxmi Sharma is a Nepali entrepreneur. She is credited as the first woman to drive an auto-rickshaw and went on to establish the first button factory in Nepal. Sharma was married at a young age, after getting a divorce she worked as a housemaid for sixteen years. Later, she started to drive a rickshaw. Though she was harassed for being a woman driver, she went on to open Laxmi Wood Craft Udhyog, a company that made buttons. The buttons were exported to Germany, Switzerland, Zambia, Denmark and the USA.
Shanta Das Manandhar was a Nepalese pioneer of children's literature. He published more than 24 children's books. Two of the books were published in English in 1958–1959, one of them titled Some Essays. He also translated English fairy tales into Nepali.
