Sajzor grew up in Šabac, a small western town of Serbia which is regarded as "conservative" towards LGBT rights. Sonja then moved in with a man in Belgrade, where she was constantly networking to join the LGBTIQ+ scene in Belgrade. [2] After four months of stay in Serbia, she and her boyfriend were attacked. Hence, she returned home and re-enrolled in high-school, where she faced severe depression.
Sajzor became one of the first two drag queens in Serbia, while she was debuting on social media. [1] She started to document her transition through photography and by exhibiting art in online platforms to demonstrate the power of networking on the internet. The photos present the process of gender searching of Sonja, from mid teens to early twenties.
In March 2014, Sonja was discovered by Croatian singer Ida Prester who hired her as a video vixen in her music video for ‘’U Tvojoj Glavi’’. After gaining more popularity, Sonja settled down in Belgrade and worked as a bartender. In July 2015, she founded The Tronic Lab, an artistic collective which aims to promote queer performers and drag queen culture. They are usually held in Drugstore club in Belgrade. [3]
She lists Siouxsie Sioux, Nina Hagen, Lydia Lunch, and Lene Lovich – "70s and 80s goth punk women" – as her influences. At the age of 13, Sonja watched the performance of Scissor Sisters, who were playing at Exit festival, on TV. Since then, she felt the urge to start doing drag. As a singer, her lyricism is based upon heartbreak and unfulfilled love story. [1]
Sonja has delved into electronic music since at a young age. She is a DJ and her sound bounds together different music genres like dark witch-house, electronic indie music and cyber pop culture. [4] At the end of 2018, she released her debut album "Prudence". Sonja is the author of all the lyrics on the album while artpop duo Ensh participated in the music production. [5]
Đorđe Balašević was a Serbian singer and songwriter, writer, poet and director. He began his career in the late 1970s as a member of the band Rani Mraz, transitioning after two albums to a solo career. He first gained mainstream prominence for writing Rani Mraz's hit "Računajte na nas", which was often described as an anthem of a generation. Vesna Zmijanac is a Montenegrin-born Serbian singer and actress. Dubbed the "Queen of Sadness", she is known for her emotional vocal delivery and melancholic ballads. Zmijanac rose to prominence in the early 1980s and has since released fourteen studio albums. She is one of the commercially most successful Serbian folk singers from the former Yugoslavia, having sold around 6.7 million records. Furthermore, Zmijanac has also maintained popularity in the neighboring countries like Bulgaria.
Jelena Karleuša is a Serbian singer-songwriter and media personality. Born and raised in Belgrade, at the age of 16 she began her music career by releasing her debut album in 1995. Karleuša has so far collectively released twelve studio albums. She has held two major solo concerts in Belgrade: All About Diva Show in the Belgrade Arena (2010) and Viva La Diva Show in Ušće Park (2013). Additionally, between 2015 and 2021, Karleuša also served as a judge on the singing competition Zvezde Granda.

Senida Hajdarpašić, known by her stage name Senidah, is a Slovenian singer-songwriter. Often dubbed the "Balkan Trap Diva" by the media, she was born in Ljubljana and rose to prominence as the lead singer of the band Muff. Bez Tebe is the debut studio album by Slovenian singer Senidah. It was released on 25 March 2019 by Belgrade-based label Bassivity Digital. Senidah wrote the album mostly with her frequent collaborators Benjamin Krnetić and Anže Kacafura, who produced the record. The album produced three official singles: "Slađana", "Belo" and "Bez tebe". "Nisi bio tu" was also released as a promotional single. Primarily an alternative R&B and trap record, Bez Tebe also incorporates synth-pop and trip hop elements. Lyrically, songs are about searching for love.
