The Juno Awards, more popularly known as the JUNOS, are awards presented annually to Canadian musical artists and bands to acknowledge their artistic and technical achievements in all aspects of music. New members of the Canadian Music Hall of Fame are also inducted as part of the awards ceremonies. The Juno Awards are often referred to as the Canadian equivalent of the Brit Awards in Great Britain or the Grammy Awards given in the United States.
The Juno Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year is an annual award presented by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences for the best album by an Indigenous Canadian artist or band. It was formerly known as Best Music of Aboriginal Canada Recording (1994–2002), Aboriginal Recording of the Year (2003–2009), and Aboriginal Album of the Year (2010–2016). Indigenous artists are not excluded from consideration in other genre or general interest categories; in fact, some indigenous musicians, most notably The Halluci Nation, have actively chosen not to submit their music in the indigenous category at all, instead pursuing nomination only in the more general categories.
The Juno Awards of 1982, representing Canadian music industry achievements of the previous year, were awarded on 14 April 1982 in Toronto at a ceremony hosted by Burton Cummings at the Harbour Castle Hilton Convention Centre in the Grand Metropolitan Ballroom.
Alexis Puentes, better known by his stage name Alex Cuba, is a Cuban-Canadian singer-songwriter who sings in Spanish and English. He has won two Juno Awards for World Music Album of the Year: in 2006 for Humo de Tabaco, and in 2008 for his second album, Agua del Pozo. In 2010 he won the Latin Grammy for Best New Artist. His 2015 album, Healer, earned him a Latin Grammy Award for Best Singer-Songwriter Album and a Grammy Award nomination for Best Latin Pop Album. His 2021 album Mendó won the 2022 Grammy for Best Latin Pop Album.

Milk & Bone are a Canadian electropop duo based in Montreal, Quebec, consisting of Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin. Their debut album Little Mourning, released in 2015 via Bonsound, was a longlisted nominee for the 2015 Polaris Music Prize. Although both of the band members are francophones, they write and record in English.
Pharis and Jason Romero are a Canadian folk music duo, most noted as three-time Juno Award winners for Traditional Roots Album of the Year. They won the award at the Juno Awards of 2021 for their album Bet On Love, the Juno Awards of 2016 for their album A Wanderer I'll Stay, and at the Juno Awards of 2018 for Sweet Old Religion.
Meghan Patrick is a Canadian-American country singer-songwriter from Bowmanville, Ontario, signed to Warner Music Canada, and Riser House Entertainment. She released her debut album, Grace & Grit, on April 29, 2016. Patrick counts Bonnie Raitt, Emmylou Harris and Aretha Franklin as her influences. Neon Dreams is a Canadian alt-pop duo consisting of vocalist Frank Kadillac and drummer Adrian Morris. They write and produce their own music with long-time collaborator Corey Lerue. They defy genre pigeonholing, as they draw freely upon pop, rock, folk, EDM, hip-hop and reggae elements. Their most successful songs are "Marching Bands," "Survive", "High School Dropout", "Life Without Fantasies" and “Little Dance”.
Gina Lam, better known by her stage name Ginalina, is a Canadian family folk singer and songwriter, based in Vancouver. She released her first children's album, Sandcastle Magic, in 2012, which won a 2013 Parents' Choice Award: Silver Honour Award. Her following album, Forest Friends' Nature Club was released in 2015 and was nominated for a Juno Award and for a 2015 Canadian Folk Music Award, as well as winning a 2016 Parents' Choice Award: Silver Honour Award. In 2016, she released Home is Family which won the Children's Artist of the Year category at the Western Canadian Music Awards, a 2017 Parents' Choice Award: Gold Honour Award. This album was nominated for the 2017 Canadian Folk Music Awards in the category: Children’s Album of the Year. In 2018, Ginalina released her fourth album, entitled "It Takes a Village". It was selected as a nominee for the 2019 Juno Award in the category of Children's Album of the Year, and nominated for Children’s Album of the Year in the 2020 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
Kacy & Clayton is a Canadian folk/roots duo originating from Wood Mountain, Saskatchewan. Having played together for over a decade growing up, the duo consists of second cousins Clayton Linthicum on guitar and Kacy Anderson on vocals.
Snotty Nose Rez Kids are a First Nations hip hop duo composed of Haisla rappers Darren "Young D" Metz and Quinton "Yung Trybez" Nyce. They are originally from Kitamaat Village, British Columbia, and currently based in Vancouver. Their 2017 album The Average Savage was shortlisted for the 2018 Polaris Music Prize, and for the Juno Award for Indigenous Music Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2019. In 2018, the duo received nominations for Best Hip Hop Album at the Indigenous Music Awards, and for Indigenous Artist of the Year at the Western Canadian Music Awards. Their third album TRAPLINE was released on May 10, 2019 and was later shortlisted for the 2019 Polaris Music Prize.
Jim and Don Haggart were a Canadian country music duo from Nova Scotia, active in the 1970s. They were Juno Award nominees for Country Single of the Year at the Juno Awards of 1974 for their song "He", and for Best Country Group or Duo at the Juno Awards of 1975.
The Reklaws are a Canadian country music duo from North Dumfries, Ontario, formed in 2012. The duo consists of siblings Stuart and Jenna Walker. They have released two albums, Freshman Year and Sophomore Slump through Universal Music Canada. The duo has achieved three Number One hits with "Feels Like That", "Can’t Help Myself", and "11 Beers" on the Canada Country chart, in addition to multiple gold and platinum certified singles.
Citizen Kane was a Canadian hip hop duo, active in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They were most noted as two-time Juno Award nominees for Rap Recording of the Year, for their EP The Epic at the Juno Awards of 1999 and their album Deliverance at the Juno Awards of 2000.
Big Block Singsong is a Canadian children's animated musical group created by Warren Brown and Adam Goddard. They are best known for their regular series of animated music videos which have aired as interstitial programming on channels such as Disney Junior in the United States, Nick Jr. in the UK and CBC Kids in Canada since 2012 and as the winners of the Juno Award for Children's Album of the Year at the Juno Awards of 2020 for their album Greatest Hits, Vol. 4. They are most noted for their albums Dream Big, Little One / Fais de beaux rêves, petit ange (2015), for which they received a Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Aboriginal Songwriter of the Year at the 12th Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2016, and Kîyânaw (2019), for which they were nominated for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year at the 16th Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2020.
