Soole (English translation: Cheap Ride) is a 2021 Nigerian-comedy film produced by Adunni Ade, a Lou-Ellen Clara Company Limited distributed by FilmOne entertainment, and directed by Kayode Kasum. [1] The film is Adunni Ade's debut production and stars Sola Sobowale, Lateef Adedimeji, Femi Jacobs, Meg Otanwa, Shawn Faqua, Bukunmi Oluwasina, Eso Dike, Teniola Aladese, Saidi Balogun amongst others. Synopsis

Soole is the story of a Catholic nun named Veronica played by Adunni Ade who travels from Lagos to Enugu after failing to fund an orphanage home. In her journey to Enugu, she opted for a cheap option ride popularly called 'Soole' where she met different commuters like herself. The journey from Lagos to Enugu featured a lot of drama including an armed robbery attack on their way to Enugu. [6] [7] [8]

Premiere

The premiere took place at the Filmhouse Cinemas IMAX Lekki in Lagos on the 21st, of November 2021. The event featured several celebrities including those that didn't appear in the movie, some of the celebrities present were Kehinde Bankole, Shawn Faqua, Okey Bakassi and a host of others. [3]

Nomination and recognition

Shawn Faqua was nominated for his role in the Soole movie under the category for Best actor in a comedy (Movie/TV series) at the 2022 Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards. [9]

<i>Ayinla</i> (film) 2021 Nigerian movie by Tunde Kelani

Ayinla is a musical eponymous film based on the life of Ayinla Yusuf popularly known as Ayinla Omowura, an Apala musician who was stabbed to death by his manager named Bayewu in a bar fight on 6 May 1980 at Abeokuta. The film premiered on 13 June 2021 in Lagos and was released to theatres on 18 June 2021. Directed by Tunde Kelani, the film was set in the 1970s and early 1980s and shot in Abeokuta, Ogun State. Lateef Adedimeji assumed the role of Ayinla, starring alongside Omowumi Dada, Bimbo Manuel, Ade Laoye, Kunle Afolayan, Bimbo Ademoye and Mr Macaroni. Ayinla is Kelani's first major film since his 2015 release of Dazzling Mirage. The budget for this feature film is officially given as ₦50 Million.

Finding Hubby is a 2020 Nigerian romantic drama film directed by Femi Ogunsanwo and starring Ade Laoye, Kehinde Bankole, Munachi Abii, and Charles Etubiebi. It is a screen adaptation of a blog series of the same name written by Tunde Leye. A sequel, Finding Hubby 2, was released in 2021.

Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju) is a 2024 Nigerian thriller film produced by Eniola Ajao and directed by Adebayo Tijani and Odunlade Adekola. The film stars Eniola Ajao, Odunlade Adekola, Sola Sobowale, Femi Adebayo, Lateef Adedimeji, Fathia Balogun, Bimbo Akintola, Olayode Juliana and others. The film which is Ajao's debut cinema production was produced in collaboration with Anthill studios owned by Niyi Akinmolayan. Beast of Two Worlds (Ajakaju) was released to the Nigerian cinema on Friday, 29 March 2024.
