Sophie Bukovec (born September 22, 1995) is a Canadian volleyball athlete competing primarily in the beach discipline. [1]
Bukovec was paired up with Brandie Wilkerson and they would go on to win the silver medal at the 2022 World Championships. [2] Later in 2022, Wilkerson and Bukovec would split, as the former paired up Melissa Humana-Paredes for the 2024 Olympics cycle. [3] Bukovec would go onto pair up Sarah Pavan, Humana-Paredes' former partner. [4] However, their partnership only lasted three tournaments before dissolving. [3]
In 2023, Bukovec reached out to Heather Bansley to pair up, with the latter coming out of retirement to pair up with Bukovec. [3] They competed in their first tournament together in Edmonton in July 2023. [5] The duo would go on to win silver at the 2024 Recife Challenge, as part of the Volleyball World Beach Pro Tour. [6]
In June 2024, Bukovec and Bansley qualified to compete for Canada at the 2024 Summer Olympics. [7] [8] [9]
Annie Martin is a Canadian beach volleyball player. She has represented her country at the 2004 and 2012 Summer Olympics. Her current playing partner is Marie-Andrée Lessard.
Laura Ludwig-Bowes is a German professional beach volleyball player, playing as a defender. Previously forming a pair with compatriot Kira Walkenhorst, she represents Hamburger SV and has won four European championships. She won the gold medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics. She added another medal, Gold, at the 2016 World Tour Finals in Toronto. In 2017, she and Walkenhorst won the World Championship in Vienna.
April Elizabeth Ross is an American beach volleyball player and three-time Olympic medalist. She won a silver medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Jennifer Kessy, a bronze medal at the 2016 Summer Olympics with Kerri Walsh Jennings, and a gold medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics with Alix Klineman. Ross and Kessy were also the 2009 Beach Volleyball World Champions.

Sarah Lindsey Pavan is a Canadian beach volleyball and former indoor volleyball player. She was part of the Canada women's national volleyball team at the 2010 FIVB Volleyball Women's World Championship in Japan. With Melissa Humana-Paredes, she won the women's gold medal at the 2019 Beach Volleyball World Championships.
Heather Bansley is a Canadian beach volleyball player, playing as a left-side defender. She has been named FIVB Best Defensive Player of the World Tour in 2015, 2016 and 2018.
Jamie Broder is a Canadian beach volleyball player. Broder has qualified to compete at the 2016 Summer Olympics. They made it to the round of 16 however they paired up against the other Canadian team of Pavan and Bansley and lost in straight sets.
Samuel Schachter is a Canadian Olympic beach volleyball player. In 2010 he won the FIVB World Junior (U-21) Championship with Garrett May. He and partner Josh Binstock were 2014 Canadian national champions, and represented Canada at the 2015 Pan American Games and the 2016 Summer Olympics. At the 2018 Commonwealth Games, he and Binstock earned silver medals. He is competing with partner Daniel Dearing at the 2024 Paris Olympics in the Men's tournament.
Taliqua Clancy is an Australian volleyball and beach volleyball player who represented Australia at the 2016 Summer Olympics in beach volleyball, partnered with Louise Bawden. She is the first Indigenous Australian volleyball player to represent Australia at the Olympics. Clancy plays as a left-side blocker.
Megan Norma McNamara is a Canadian beach volleyball player. Along with her twin sister, Nicole McNamara, Megan has competed in many beach volleyball events around the world. From the fall of 2015 until the spring of 2019, Megan competed collegiately for the UCLA Bruins, leading the team to its first Pac-12 and NCAA titles in the sport during the 2018 season, and a second NCAA championship in the 2019 season.

Artacho del Solar plays as a right-side defender. According to the Women's FIVB World Rankings, she and partner Taliqua Clancy are ranked 5th as of 21 January 2020.
Sara Elizabeth Hughes is an American beach volleyball player. With teammate Kelly Cheng she achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 2 in August 2023. Hughes has won six tournaments on the AVP Pro Tour and seven gold medals, one silver medal, and three bronze medals on the FIVB World Tour/Pro Beach Tour.

Brandie Wilkerson is a Canadian beach volleyball player who plays as a right-side blocker. With teammate Heather Bansley, she achieved a career-high world ranking of No. 1 in November 2018. She is the 2018 FIVB Best Blocker. She has also competed on the AVP.

Since Canada's debut in 1900, Canadian athletes have appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, except for the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the country's support for United States-led boycott.
Tugrul Özer is a Canadian sport shooter. Özer won the gold medal in the men's 10-metre air pistol at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago. Tugrul set the Pan American Games Record on the way to his victory over James Hall in 2023 and secured a quota spot and his qualification to the 2024 Summer Olympics. Tugrul's 240.5 score in the final surpassed the previous 237.5 set by Cuba's Jorge Grau in 2019. Following his win he said that "It means a lot, really. There’s a lot of effort behind this performance. I’m very happy to have three prizes, happy to have the gold medal and the qualification for Paris. I plan to do better in Paris. It was a challenging competition."
