Sophie Hensser is an Australian actress. She is best known for her roles as Vivian Maguire in "Love Child" and Megan in "The Saddle Club". Sophie is now known by her married name Sophie Bloom.

Career

Hensser is the daughter of actress Wendy Strehlow. [1] While growing up Hensser was on sets and tours with her parents. Strehlow agreed to Hensser having an agent on the condition that she did not take rejection after auditions personally. Hensser had credited her mother as helping her to stay "grounded" as an actress. [1] Hensser trained at the Australian Theatre for Young People and also participated in an open course from the National Institute of Dramatic Art. [2]

In 2009, she began appearing in a guest role on Seven Network soap opera Home and Away , during the 22nd season, as Freya Duric, the girlfriend of Xavier Austin (David Jones-Roberts). She is perhaps best remembered on the show for a scene which involved her kissing Nicole Franklin (Tessa James).

In 2011, Hensser began playing Tamara in the stage production of Lachlan Philpott's Silent Disco. Hensser told Elissa Blake from The Sydney Morning Herald that her character was the "epitome of teenage angst".

In 2013, Hensser began filming 'Love Child' [3] The play received critical acclaim but was a failure at the box office. [4] In December that year, it was announced that Hensser had begun filming a regular role in the Nine Network drama series Tricky Business , playing Lily Christie. [1] Hensser took part in the 2012 Dungog Film Festival and read for Diving For Poland at the Cockatoo theatre. [5]

From mid-2005 to 2008, she played the role of Paramedic Lorraine Tanner in the Seven Network medical drama All Saints.

Sophie Dean is a fictional character from the Australian Channel Seven soap opera Home and Away, played by Rebekah Elmaloglou. She debuted on-screen during the episode airing on 23 January 1990 and appeared as a regular until 1993. Elmaloglou returned to filming when Sophie made subsequent guest appearances in 2002, 2003 and 2005.

Frances James is a fictional character in the Australian Channel Seven drama series Winners & Losers, played by Virginia Gay. Frances made her debut screen appearance in the pilot episode "Covert Aggression in Netball", which was broadcast on 22 March 2011. Janet King (character)

Janet King is a fictional character from the Australian ABC1 legal dramas Crownies and Janet King, played by Marta Dusseldorp. She debuted on-screen in the first episode of Crownies broadcast on 14 July 2011. To prepare, Dusseldorp researched legal cases and observed prosecutors in court. She also visited the NSW Director of Public Prosecutions Nicholas Cowdery and shadowed Margaret Cunneen SC, a Senior Crown Prosecutor and model for the character Janet King. Janet is characterised as a "tough and tenacious" Senior Crown Prosecutor who has worked in the DPP office for ten years. The character is in a same-sex relationship and has children via IVF. When Crownies finished airing plans were made to create a spin-off show centric to the character. Janet King was produced in 2013 with Dusseldorp returning to the titular role. The actress has stated that she made deliberate changes to ensure Janet listened to others more often.

Silent Disco is a play by Australian playwright Lachlan Philpott. It concerns two teenagers - one of whom is Aboriginal - at a Sydney public school.

Gabrielle Scawthorn is an Australian actress. She has appeared in numerous stage productions as well as TV and film. Gabrielle grew up in Ipswich, Queensland. She trained at NIDA.
