Sophie Tilson is an Australian actress, writer and producer. She was one of the stars of the 2009 web series OzGirl . She is perhaps best known for playing the character Lisa Devine on the Australian soap opera Neighbours . Her first screenplay, Wrong Swipe, which she wrote with her partner, Shanrah Wakefield, was scheduled to be released February 10, 2016 on Lifetime.

Early life

Tilson grew up in Melbourne where she attended University High school. She studied at the Victorian College of the Arts and the Swinburne University of Technology where she received a degree in Media, Communication, and Literature. [1] [2]

Career

In 2009, Tilson starred in the Australia-based web series, OzGirl . The series won several awards including best actor at the 4th Annual ITVfest, which Tilson shared with her co-star Shanrah Wakefield [3] as well as the Streamy Award for best foreign web series. [4]

In 2010, she played the role of Lisa Devine on the Australian soap opera Neighbours. [5]

In 2014, she appeared in the Ion Television original holiday movie, Merry Ex-Mas opposite Kristy Swanson. [5]

In 2015, her screenplay for the movie, Swipe, which she wrote with her former OzGirl co-star, Shanrah Wakefield, was produced for Lifetime TV and is scheduled to air later this year. [5] The film has recently been re titled Wrong Swipe and is scheduled to air February 10, 2016.

Neighbours is an Australian television soap opera which ran from 18 March 1985 until 28 July 2022. It was created by television executive Reg Watson. The Seven Network commissioned the show following the success of Watson's earlier soap Sons and Daughters. Although successful in Melbourne, Neighbours underperformed in the Sydney market and was cancelled by Seven four months after it began airing. It was immediately commissioned by rival Network Ten for a second production season, which began screening on 20 January 1986. Neighbours has since become the longest-running drama series in Australian television history. In 2005, it was inducted into the Logie Hall of Fame.

Simon Fitzgerald (<i>Home and Away</i>) Soap opera character

Simon Fitzgerald is a fictional character from the Australian television soap opera Home and Away, played by Richard Norton. The character debuted on-screen during the episode broadcast on 25 September 1991. Norton was cast in the show after appearing in fellow soap opera Neighbours just a few months prior. Simon is characterised as a "joker" who enjoys playing pranks on his friends. Simon was introduced alongside his criminal father Bill Fitzgerald, who soon abandoned him. Writers paired Simon with Sophie Simpson for his first relationship story, although she is pregnant with another man's child. Isabella Giovinazzo is an Australian actress. From 2013 until 2017, she played Phoebe Nicholson in the Australian soap opera Home and Away.
