Soundfly is an online music education platform based in Brooklyn, New York. They offer online music courses and mentorship sessions as well as hosting a bi-weekly podcast, Themes and Variation, [1] and a daily blog, Flypaper. [2] [3]

Courses

In 2022, Soundfly has released courses on designing sample-based instruments with Son Lux's Ryan Lott, [6] retrofuturistic, synth-based electronic music production with Com Truise, [7] and rhythmic creativity with producer Jlin. [8] Previously, in November 2021, Soundfly released a piano course covering music theory, improvisation, and beat making with pianist and producer Kiefer. [9] Earlier that year, the company released a course on sampling and arranging with DJ and producer RJD2, [10] [3] which was filmed by RJD2 himself during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown, [11] and a course on vocal songwriting and production with pop singer Kimbra.

Previous courses have included the companion course for Carnegie Hall's Somewhere Project, [12] as well as courses on synthesis, [13] music production in Logic Pro and Ableton Live, [14] music theory for producers, [15] crowdfunding, beginner piano, and open tunings for guitar. [16] They also produced a guide for how to learn things online at the outset of the coronavirus pandemic. [17]

He is also a member of Sisyphus and has scored the soundtracks for a number of films, most notably Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022), Mean Dreams (2017), Paper Towns (2015), and The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby (2013). In 2020, Lott composed the soundtrack for the adventure game Tell Me Why. In 2022, Ryan released a course on designing sample-based instruments with online music school Soundfly.

<i>In Decay</i> 2012 compilation album by Com Truise

In Decay is a compilation album by American electronic musician Seth Haley's project Com Truise, released on July 16, 2012, by the independent record label Ghostly International. It is a collection of tracks that, prior to the release, were only available as tracks found on Haley's internet mixtape series, Komputer Kasts, and his SoundCloud account. These early tracks, some of which were produced before the release of his debut EP, Cyanide Sisters (2010), showcase Haley exploring an electropop funk music sound that would later come to define Com Truise. Critical reception upon release was mixed; a common praise was the album's sound design, while frequent criticisms were its repetition, and lack of distinct tone and feel of each track. A follow-up compilation album, In Decay, Too, was released in 2020.

Ilsey Anna Juber is an American singer and songwriter from California. Juber co-wrote Mark Ronson's "Nothing Breaks Like a Heart" feat. Miley Cyrus, along with much of Ronson’s Late Night Feelings album with vocals featured on the track "Spinning". In 2020, she worked on "Midnight Sky" as well as two other songs from Cyrus' album, Plastic Hearts. On October 3, "Midnight Sky" hit #11 on Billboard's Adult Top 40. Cyrus performed her song live at the 2020 MTV Video Music Awards. Additionally, Juber co-wrote "All Night" by Beyoncé, and Panic! at the Disco's "High Hopes", which reached #1 on the US Hot AC, Alternative, and Top 40 radio charts. She was also a co-writer on the 2015 single "Powerful" by Major Lazer featuring Ellie Goulding. In 2018, Juber won two BMI awards for her work co-writing "Mercy" by Shawn Mendes and "In the Name of Love" by Martin Garrix and Bebe Rexha. Later in 2020, Juber wrote "This Is Us" for Jimmie Allen and Noah Cyrus, who performed their duet at the 2020 CMT Music Awards.
