South Lenoir High School is located in Deep Run, North Carolina, USA. It is part of the Lenoir County Public School system. Its principal is Elizabeth P. Pierce.
In 1926, the Deep Run School was built for grades 1–12. The spirit colors were red and white. The mascot was the state bird, the cardinal. In 1964, the county's schools consolidated and Deep Run closed and was reopened at South Lenoir for high school students in Lenoir County south of the Neuse River. The new school's nickname was the "Rebels" before changing to the "Blue Devils" after the integration of white and black students in 1970. In November 2014, California sibling band Echosmith performed at South Lenoir, and sang songs such as "Cool Kids." [2]

Deep Run High School is a part magnet high school in Henrico County, Virginia, United States. It is named after Deep Run School, one of Henrico County's first schools which was a two-room schoolhouse that can still be found on the grounds of Short Pump Elementary School. The school had approximately 1,900 students and over 135 faculty members during the 2022-2023 school year. About 200 students are part of the Center for Information Technology, a highly competitive magnet program open to all county residents. Deep Run is consistently highly ranked.

Arendell Parrott Academy is a non-sectarian private school located in Kinston, North Carolina, for grades K–12. The school was the vision of Marion Parrot, a local attorney and state representative. After struggling for a few years to gain support, the untimely death of their son, Arendall, provided the inspiration to Parrott family to open the school. However, their efforts did not come to fruition for several years, when Federally forced desegregation of the public schools created an interest among White Parents to flee to private schools. While there were no Black students, some people linked to the school deny that it was founded as a segregation academy in response to the court ordered integration of public schools, while one founder stated that it was not a choice for Black students.

North Lenoir High School is a public high school in La Grange, North Carolina serving grades 9–12. It was created as part of school consolidation of Contentnea, Wheat Swamp and La Grange schools in 1964. The school reports 100 percent of its students are economically challenged. In 2024, 40.6 percent of the student body was white, 39.3% was black and 15.9 percent Hispanic. It won back to back state championships in basketball. The school's mascot was originally a buccaneer and then a hawk. The school colors are black and white. The school is part of the North Carolina High School Athletic Association and its teams compete in the 2A Conference.
