The SA Suns (formerly Southern Suns - prior to 2015) [1] are a women's field hockey team based in South Australia that competes in the Australian Hockey League (AHL). [2]

The team is mostly made up of amateurs who participate in the Victorian State League Division 1. Previous to being known as the Victorian Vikings, the Victorian team have been referred to Melbourne Redbacks, VIS Redbacks and Azuma Vikings. The team's home stadium is the Victorian State Netball and Hockey Centre.

The OAMPS Queensland Scorchers are an Australian women's field hockey team based in Queensland that play in the Australian Hockey League. In the 2014 season, they were the runners-up to the NSW Arrows. They also won the 2013 Australian Hockey League Premiership, as well as the 2015 AHL Premiership. In 2016 they made it back-to-back premierships, beating Victoria in the final. When they again met Victoria in the 2017 final, the two teams were level at full time. The match then went to shoot outs, with Victoria coming away with the championship.

The New South Wales Arrows are a nationally competing field hockey team based in Sydney, Australia. Their most recent Australian Hockey League title win was in 2014. In 2015, NSW beat the ACT in the bronze medal playoff, securing 3rd place in the final rankings after beating Canberra Labor Club Strikers 3-1. The NSW Arrows are the most successful team in the AHL, winning a record 9 titles in the years 1993, 1996, 1998-2002, 2009 and 2014.

The Canberra Labor Club Strikers are a nationally competing women's field hockey team based in Australian Capital Territory. Coached by Mark Stafford, they compete in the Australian Hockey League. They are captained by Shelley Watson and Meredith Bone. They have not won the AHL title to date, but have been runners-up on 4 occasions.

Jane Claxton is an Australian field hockey player for Australia. Claxton was a member of the Australia women's national field hockey team that were defeated by the Netherlands women's national field hockey team in the final of the 2014 Women's Hockey World Cup, a Gold Medal winner at the 2014 Commonwealth Games and member of the team that went to the 2016 Summer Olympics. She was also named captain of the Hockeyroos in November 2016 for the Tans-Tasman Trophy against New Zealand.
