Space Quest: Vohaul Strikes Back is a non-commercial fan-made sequel to Sierra's Space Quest series, released in 2011.
When a fallen nemesis returns to wreak vengeance on the galaxy, it's up to space janitor Roger Wilco to tread the treacherous ice world of Radon, outwit an army of simian commandos, and lead the indigenous people in a revolution to take back the planet and defeat the diabolical mad scientist Sludge Vohaul.
Beginning in April 2002, the game was developed by a group of volunteers in their spare time for over nine years. The developers used the free Adventure Game Studio engine, created by Chris Jones.

Several authors of Vohaul Strikes Back, most notably Chris Ushko, also worked on another fan-made sequel, Space Quest: Incinerations , which was in development for over six years and released just a few weeks after Vohaul Strikes Back, in January 2012.

Host Master Deux: Quest for Identity is the sequel to Host Master and the Conquest of Humor. It is a free Flash Adventure platformer, created Benedikt Hummel and Marius Fietzek, and starring game developer Tim Schafer. The game was published by Double Fine Productions, of which Schafer is president, and was originally playable on their website.
Deep Sleep is a series of point-and-click adventure games created by Polish indie developer Scriptwelder. The series consists of three free browser games in which the player attempts to navigate and eventually escape a dream world inhabited by shadow people. Infamous Quests is an independent video game developer, known for developing adventure games. It was founded in 2012 by Steven Alexander and Shawn Mills who previously founded Infamous Adventures, an amateur game development company that remade old Sierra Entertainment adventure games of the early 1990s. The two chose to form Infamous Quests in order to separate it from their free fan-remake development company and in 2012 they announced Quest for Infamy, an adventure RPG made with Adventure Game Studio where the player assumes the role of the morally gray William Roehm. The developers raised $63,281 on Kickstarter to produce Quest For Infamy, and in June 2014 the game made Time Magazine's 20 Video Games To Watch for Summer 2014 list.
Brogue is a free roguelike computer video game created by Brian Walker. As in its predecessor Rogue, the goal of Brogue is for the player to descend to the 26th floor of the Dungeons of Doom, retrieve the Amulet of Yendor, and return to the surface. Players also have the option of delving deeper into the dungeon to obtain a higher score. This task is complicated by the presence of monsters and traps in a procedurally generated dungeon.

Based on the Callahan's Place book series by author Spider Robinson, the game follows Jake Stonebender, narrator of the books, through six discrete comic science fiction adventures.
