The Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park is a park located in North Central Florida, in Suwannee County, United States.
Situated on the banks of the historic Suwannee River, the park consists of over 800 acres (2.4 km²) of camping areas, concert venues, recreational facilities, and unspoiled forests. The park hosts numerous major events each year, including Suwannee Hulaween, Suwannee River Jam, the Suwannee Roots Revival , Wanee Music Festival, Brainquility, Purple Hatter's Ball, Suwannee Rising, and Suwannee Spring Reunion. Located in Live Oak, Florida, with 3 miles of the Suwannee River bordering the park, hosts over 25 fun events throughout the year. The park offers multiple stages, miles of trails, and over 800 acres (3.2 km2) for camping, hiking, canoe and kayak rentals on the river, horseback riding, a restaurant, and a country store. Besides a variety of other flora and fauna, it includes a large bat house which has become a home to an increasing number of bats. [3] [4] [5]
The Cornett family has been making improvements to the park to enhance and improve its entertainment, hiking, canoeing, camping, and other activities. The park offers varied camping options including primitive camping, RV camping, and furnished park models. The "Spirit Treehouse" is also available for different occasions and events. In 2015, the park was featured on an episode of "Treehouse Guys" a reality TV show on the DIY Network. The episode, titled "A 100-Year Old Oak Tree" was the most-watched episode of the series, and featured the construction of a new multi-story treehouse built on the banks of the Suwannee River. The matriarch of the park, Jean Carrithers Cornett is featured prominently in the show as she died during the filming. The massive treehouse is now called the "Mother Tree" in her honor, and is open for tours on weekends. [6]
The 2015 Suwannee Hulaween Music Festival had record-breaking attendance for the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park with 21,000 attendees. [7]

Black Rock Mountain State Park is a 1,743-acre (705 ha) Georgia, United States, state park west of Mountain City in Rabun County, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Ochlockonee River State Park is a Florida State Park located in Wakulla County, Florida, south of the town of Sopchoppy in the Florida Panhandle. Little Talbot Island State Park is a Florida State Park located on Little Talbot Island, 17 miles (27 km) northeast of Jacksonville on State Road A1A. The park covers the entire 2,500-acre (10 km2) island. Big Talbot Island State Park lies to the immediate north. The park contains maritime forests, dunes, and salt marshes on the western side of the island. Wild life includes river otters, marsh rabbits, bobcats, and a variety of native and migrating birds. Activities include camping, fishing, hiking, swimming, canoeing, nature watching and surfing. Erosion on Big Talbot Island, coupled with sand deposition on Little Talbot, have resulted in Little Talbot Island becoming the larger of the two Talbot Islands. The largest continuous section of the Machaba Balu Preserve lies just to the west of Little Talbot Island.
Collier–Seminole State Park is a Florida State Park located on US 41, 17 miles (27 km) south of Naples, Florida. The park is the home of a National Historic Mechanical Engineering Landmark, the Bay City Walking Dredge used to build the Tamiami Trail through the Everglades. The park includes of 6,430 acres (26 km2) of mangrove swamp, cypress swamps, salt marshes, mangrove river estuaries, and pine flatwoods. Among the wildlife of the park are American alligators, raccoons, ospreys, and American white ibis. brown pelicans, wood storks, bald eagles, red-cockaded woodpeckers, American crocodiles, Florida black bears and Big Cypress fox squirrels also inhabit the park.
Lake Griffin State Park is a Florida State Park located two miles (3 km) north of Leesburg, in Fruitland Park and 30 miles (48 km) south of Ocala on U.S. Highway 441. It is home to one of the state's largest live oak trees. The park is unique in connecting to Lake Griffin, the Ocklawaha River and thence to the Harris Chain of Lakes, and is made up of 577.63 acres (2.33758 km2) of swampland and hardwood upland.
Lake Louisa State Park is a 4,372-acre (17.69 km2) Florida State Park located south of Clermont, in the northeast corner of the Green Swamp and the southwestern shore of Lake Louisa. It is made up of bald cypress, live oak, and saw palmettos. In addition to Lake Louisa, the park contains Hammond Lake, Dixie Lake, Dude Lake, and Bear Lake, along with several smaller lakes.
Turkey Swamp Park is a 2,388-acre (966 ha) county park located in Freehold Township, New Jersey on the northernmost fringes of the Pine Barrens. The Turkey Swamp area is located on a drainage divide within Central New Jersey, as it includes to the east the headwaters of the Manasquan that flows into Manasquan Inlet and the Metedeconk and Toms River systems that flow into Barnegat Bay; to the north the Manalapan Brook system that is part of the Raritan River basin; and to the west the Assunpink, Crosswicks, and Millstone River systems that flow into the Delaware River. The chief recreational attraction of this park is the 17-acre (6.9 ha) lake suitable for bass, bluegill and catfish fishing, as well as canoeing and paddle boating.
Stephen C. Foster State Park is a 120-acre (49 ha) state park located in the Okefenokee Swamp in Charlton County, Georgia. the park offers visitors several ways to explore the swamp's unique ecosystem.
Brunet Island State Park is a state park of Wisconsin, USA, featuring a 169-acre (68 ha) island in the Chippewa River. The remainder of the park's 1,225 acres (496 ha) are on the east bank of the river. It is noted for its numerous white-tailed deer and large eastern hemlock trees. The park is located just north of Cornell in Chippewa County in the Northern Highland region of Wisconsin. The Old Abe State Trail begins in the park and follows the riverbank south to the town of Chippewa Falls, with access to Lake Wissota State Park.
Colt Creek State Park is a Florida State Park in Central Florida, 16 miles (26 km) north of Lakeland off of State Road 471. This 5,067 acre park nestled within the Green Swamp Wilderness Area and named after one of the tributaries that flows through the property was opened to the public on January 20, 2007. Composed mainly of pine flatwoods, cypress domes and open pasture land, this piece of pristine wilderness is home to many animal species including the American bald eagle, Southern fox squirrel, gopher tortoise, white-tailed deer, wild turkey and bobcat.
Wanee Festival was an annual event held 2005 - 2018 at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park, in Live Oak, Florida. The festival was hosted by the Allman Brothers Band until 2014 and was managed by Live Nation. On November 5, 2018, it was announced via the Wanee website that the festival would not be occurring at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in 2019, citing the religious holidays of Easter and Passover as the reason the festival was cancelled. No plans for future Wanee Festivals have been announced.

Mattair Springs is a natural spring and 1,188-acre preserve in northeastern Suwannee County, Florida. It is managed by the Suwannee River Water Management District. The property includes upland mixed forest, pine plantations, and sandhills. The sandhill areas are undergoing restoration. Camp Branch is a 200-acre tract nearby. It includes slope forest, xeric hammock, upland mixed forest, bottom land forest and sandhill habitats. Wildlife in the area include gopher tortoise, Suwannee cooter, deer, turkey, and squirrel. Hooded pitcher plants and cedar elm are also present. The Florida Trail passes through the area.
AURA Music and Arts Festival is an annual three-day, music-driven festival, featuring jam, funk, rock, jazz, and livetronica performances, as well as musical workshops, activities, and other programs. Produced by AURA Music Group, LLC, AURA Music and Arts Festival has produced six festivals since 2010. The festival now takes place at the Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak, FL.
