Spraydog are an English band that formed in 1994 in Chester-le-Street and Newcastle upon Tyne, England.

Biography

Formed around 1994, Spraydog have released five studio albums, [1] (4 on their own Ferric Mordant label), [2] nine EPs on Beautiful Pigeon Records, and numerous singles and compilation contributions on a variety of independent labels including Fierce Panda, [3] Stupidcat and Fortuna Pop! [4] Their most recent album, Karate Summer Camp was released in late 2006. [5] [6] They have recorded two BBC Radio 1 sessions for DJ John Peel. [7]

Spraydog kick-started their career touring with the band Kenickie [8] and continue to play live both in their home town and occasionally elsewhere in the UK and Europe.

According to their MySpace profile, their musical influences include Pixies, My Bloody Valentine and Pavement. NME magazine described them in 2006 as "very great, scrummy lo-fi scuzz".

Spraydog celebrated their 20th anniversary in April 2017.

At the Club is the debut studio album by the British band Kenickie. It was released in 1997 and reached number nine on the UK Albums Chart. At the Club includes the singles "Punka", "Millionaire Sweeper", "In Your Car", "Nightlife" and "Come Out 2nite"; the lead track from the group's second EP Skillex. "How I Was Made" and an earlier stage of recording of "Acetone" also previously appeared on Skillex - the latter recording had also been used as part of an acoustic Peel Session in February 1996 and therefore appears on the band's BBC Peel Sessions CD.

Fierce Panda Records is a London-based independent record label, with its first release in February 1994. It also produced a small number of releases that year by now famous artists such as Ash, The Bluetones, Baby Bird and Supergrass. Fierce Panda is also credited with releases by Acres of Lions, Air Traffic, Art Brut, The Blackout, Boy Kill Boy, Coldplay, Death Cab for Cutie, Desperate Journalist, Embrace, Goldheart Assembly, Kenickie, Seafood, Keane, Placebo, The Polyphonic Spree and Shitdisco.

Rosita was an English band formed by Marie Du Santiago and Emmy-Kate Montrose, formerly one-half of the band Kenickie, in the immediate aftermath of Kenickie's split in October 1998. Although remembered as a Kenickie offshoot, they received regular coverage in their own right in the weekly UK music press, their second single, "Santa Poca's Dream" was a UK Independent Singles Chart Top 20 hit, and one of its bonus tracks, "Demon", was used as the soundtrack to a television advertisement for Leyland DAF Vans.

The Hot Puppies were a Welsh band formed in Aberystwyth in 2000 and later based in Cardiff. They were signed to Fierce Panda Records. After releasing three albums, they split up in 2008.

Scarfo were a British rock band, formed in Andover, England in 1994, by former art college students Jamie Hince, Nick Prior (bass), and Al Saunders (drums). Scarfo was the culmination of several other bands and lineups involving Hince and Saunders including Remember The Rabbits, and Electric Turkey Land. The line up for both these bands included long term friend of Hince, and fellow resident of the Newbury area, Wob Williams. Wob went on to play, like Hince, with the punk-folk ensemble Blyth Power.

The Snapdragons were an indie rock band from Leeds, England. They were led by their singer and main songwriter, James Taylor. They released two albums and four singles in the late 1980s and early 1990s, while signed to the independent record label, Native Records.

"Everybody's Changing" is a song performed by English alternative rock band Keane. It was released as the second single from their debut studio album, Hopes and Fears (2004). After a single release on Fierce Panda in May 2003, which peaked at number 122 in the UK Singles Chart, it was re-released on Island on 3 May 2004 after the success of "Somewhere Only We Know" and reached number four. It is also used in the TV series, In Plain Sight and can also be heard in the final moments of One Tree Hill episode "Truth Doesn't Make a Noise" and Scrubs episode "My Day at the Races".

Done Lying Down were a British-American rock group, active during the mid-1990s. Their reputation for intense, energetic live performances won the group major acclaim in the British music press and a number of devoted fans. The group's sound was a mix of singer Parker's American vocal style and the British punk rock roots of the other three members of the band. Their name was adopted from Parker's previous band in based in Boston, Massachusetts. Done Lying Down's music was commonly described as New Wave of New Wave and punk by the media. The members of the group were Jeremy Parker, Glenn Young (guitar), Ali Mac, and James Sherry (drums).
