Rachael Margaret Grinham is an Australian former professional squash player. She won the World Open in 2007, and the British Open in 2003, 2004, 2007 and 2009. She reached the World No. 1 ranking in August 2004 and held it for 16 consecutive months.
James Willstrop is an English professional squash player from Yorkshire.
The Squash at the 2006 Commonwealth Games was played for the most part at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre. Singles play took place from March 16 to 20, and the doubles was contested from March 21 to 26.

With her current partner Zheng, she won the gold medal at the 2018 and 2022 Asian Games, and claimed the BWF World Championships titles in 2018, 2019, and 2022. Huang was made the Female Player of the Year by the BWF in 2018 and 2019.
Georgina Kennedy is an English professional squash player. In August 2022, ranked number 8 in the world, she became the first Englishwoman to win a Commonwealth Games squash singles title. In September 2023, Kennedy achieved her highest world ranking to date: number 6.

Faiza Zafar is a Pakistani professional squash player. As of February 2018, she was ranked number 174 in the world. She made her Commonwealth Games debut for Pakistan at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. The squash competitions at the 2019 Southeast Asian Games in the Philippines were held from 1 to 9 December 2019 at the Manila Polo Club in Makati, Metro Manila.
Richard Howard Purser is a New Zealand badminton player who has won 33 New Zealand national badminton titles, including the men's singles on nine occasions. He competed at four consecutive Commonwealth Games, from 1966 to 1978, and won the bronze medal in the men's doubles with his brother, Bryan Purser, at the 1978 Commonwealth Games.
Malaysia competed in the 2022 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China. The event was originally scheduled from 10 to 25 September 2022. However, due to COVID-19 pandemic cases rising in China, the event was postponed and rescheduled to 23 September to 8 October 2023.
Squash competitions at the 2022 Bolivarian Games in Valledupar, Colombia were held from 25 to 29 June 2022 at Unidad Deportiva El Salitre in Bogotá, a sub-venue outside Valledupar.
