History

Before he joined YouTube, Pelo first joined DeviantArt on May 5, 2007 under the name I-Freez. [2] At first, he created art of his Sonic OC, but later focused more on Flash animations, such as the "Super Warnoldo" series, "Las Aventuras de Copy Pop," and the "Un Flash Cortito" series, all of which is written and voiced in Spanish. [3] [4] [5] He also made an animation for a school project that contained excessive amounts of violence and gore, that made the teacher cry, and got the teacher talking to his parents. [5] He joined YouTube on May 30, 2008, but did not start posting videos until August 9, 2011. The very first video he posted was about rage comics, animations, and other internet fads.

His first major success on YouTube was when he started posting his first series, "X is..." a satire of various public figures. On September 19, 2012, Sr Pelo created his longest-running series, "Mokey's Show" a parody of Mickey Mouse. On October 30, 2018, Sr Pelo started "Spooky Month", a Halloween-themed series which gets a new episode every year around October. In 2021, Sr Pelo's channel reached 1 billion total video views.

His YouTube channel was also previously named "123pendejos" before changing to Sr Pelo, based on a nickname given to him by friends. [6] One of his videos titled "Every StoryTime Animation", parodying the new-age wave of "storytime animators" in the mid-to-late 2010s, was seen by YouTube Let's Player Arin Hanson who deemed the video as “mean" and "harmful". [7]

Spooky Month

Beginning in 2018, Spooky Month is an animated series posted annually around October. It follows Skid and Pump, two children dressed in a skeleton and pumpkin costume. The series showcases their Halloween adventures around their small town, as they get up to random shenanigans, all whilst fending off whatever monster, happens to show up. Major elements of this series include the Spooky Dance, a dance involving the outward thrusting of both outward-stretched palms repeating on both sides, and a creature (a mixture of Regan from The Exorcist and the trollface meme) known as the Ooga Booga, who only appears in the YouTube endings of the Spooky Month videos, outside of a cameo in Unwanted Guest, and the Newgrounds ending of The Stars. Spooky Month is notable for being one of Pelo's series in which he has a team of animators working under his direction to produce episodes. In turn, defining Spooky Month as a candidate for being an ongoing independent YouTube web series. In this series he has been known to work with voice actors such as Kellen Goff and Zach Hadel.

Collaborations

In 2020, Casanova's characters Skid and Pump, the two main protagonists of Spooky Month, were featured as guest characters in the indie rhythm game Friday Night Funkin' , for their notable association with the website Newgrounds he also provides the voice lines for the characters. He has done a live stream of the demo for the upcoming game Rolus in the Outskirts. On November 9th 2023, Pelo would be invited to join an online animation panel with creators such as Vivziepop, creator of Hazbin Hotel and Helluva Boss, and Gooseworx, creator of The Amazing Digital Circus.
