Government Model Engineering College, Thrikkakara (MEC) is an institute of engineering and technology located in Thrikkakara, Kochi, Kerala in South India. Founded in 1989, it is among the top ranked engineering colleges in Kerala, and one of the top engineering schools in India. The institution is the first self-financing college to be established by the Government of Kerala under the aegis of the Institute of Human Resource Development for Electronics and the first to be affiliated to Cochin University of Science and Technology. It is the first recognized research center under the university. As of May 2016, MEC is affiliated to the newly set up A P J Abdul Kalam Technological University.
