St. Ignatius College (Spanish : Colegio San Ignacio) is a private Catholic primary and secondary school, located in Pamplona, Spain. The school was founded by the Society of Jesus in 1946. The school includes infant, primary, ESO, and baccalaureate, in addition to attending to diversity through the Transition Unit and the Specific Curriculum Unit.

History

In 1946 Colegio San Ignacio opened at 31 Mayor Street with three classes of students. The next year it moved to Paso Arrieta villa, and two years later to 17 Media Luna Street, since its 128 students had outgrown the current school. In 1951, with he Bishop officiating, the new school at 32 Calle Bergamin opened, now with 291 students.[ citation needed ]

In 1959 the Church of the Immaculate was opened. Loyola Hall was inaugurated in 1962. The College grew with the opening of Padre Moracho building in 1964. There were then 898 students.[ citation needed ]

In 1983 construction began on a six-storey building on Larrabide Street. In the next year twelve students were admitted to the new EGB program. Enrollment reached its peak in 1986, at 1,826 students.[ citation needed ]

The Colegio de San Juan de Letran, also referred to by its acronym CSJL, is a private Catholic coeducational basic and higher education institution owned and run by the friars of the Order of Preachers in Intramuros, Manila, Philippines. It was founded in 1620. Colegio de San Juan de Letran has the distinction of being the oldest college in the Philippines and the oldest secondary institution in Asia. The school has produced Philippine presidents, revolutionary heroes, poets, legislators, members of the clergy, jurists, and it is also one of the only Philippine schools that has produced several Catholic saints who lived and studied on its campus. The school's patron saint is St. John the Baptist. The campus contains two statues, representing the two foremost alumni in the fields of secular and religious service: former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon and Vietnamese Saint Vicente Liem de la Paz.

Ateneo de Zamboanga University

The Ateneo de Zamboanga University, also referred to by its acronym AdZU is a private Catholic Coeducational basic and higher education institution run by the Philippines Province of the Society of Jesus in Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur, Philippines. AdZU began in 1912 as Escuela Catolica, a parochial school run by Spanish Jesuits. It is the second oldest Jesuit school in the Philippines and the second Jesuit school to be named Ateneo. It initially offered primary and secondary education for boys. It became a college in 1952 and a university in August 2001. It operates in three campuses. The main campus located in La Purisima Street, Zamboanga City is where the tertiary and senior high school departments are located and the annex campus in Barangay Tumaga, outside Zamboanga City proper, is where the junior high school and grade school units are located. The third and newest campus is the Lantaka Campus located in N. S. Valderroza St. Zamboanga City. This campus was a former resort hotel which was repurposed by the AdZU. It is now being used for educational, spiritual, religious, and social development purposes.

San Ildefonso College currently is a museum and cultural center in Mexico City, considered to be the birthplace of the Mexican muralism movement. San Ildefonso began as a prestigious Jesuit boarding school, and after the Reform War it gained educational prestige again as National Preparatory School. This school and the building closed completely in 1978, then reopened as a museum and cultural center in 1992. The museum has permanent and temporary art and archeological exhibitions in addition to the many murals painted on its walls by José Clemente Orozco, Fernando Leal, Diego Rivera and others. The complex is located between San Ildefonso Street and Justo Sierra Street in the historic center of Mexico City.

The school has maintained most of its mission and organization and is the only continuously operating colonial era institution in Mexico. It was originally established for the education of orphaned girls and widows, but now it is co-educational. It offers education from kindergarten through senior high school. The building is not generally open to tourists, but can be rented for social events, such as the Shallalom wedding.

The Universidad de San Ignacio was a university in the city of Manila which existed in the Spanish Philippines. It was founded in 1590 and is one of the earliest educational institutions built by Europeans in East Asia when it was established by Spanish Jesuits headed by Fr. Antonio Sedeño, S.J.
