The St. Martin of Tours' Church [1] (Dutch : Sint Martinus van Tours Kerk) is a religious building is located at 51 Voorstraat, Voorstraat, in the city of Philipsburg, [2] Sint Maarten [3] [ self-published source ] [4] on the Dutch side of the Caribbean island of St. Martin [5] in the Lesser Antilles east of the Caribbean Sea or Sea The Antilles.
It is a temple that follows the Roman or Latin rite and depends on the Catholic Diocese of Willemstad based on the island of Curaçao. It is also one of the three Catholic churches in the Dutch part of the island being the other two, Mary Star of the Sea in Simpson Bay (Maria Sterre der Zee kerk), and Christ Risen in South Reward .
Most Masses and religious services at the temple are conducted in English with a single Mass in Spanish the Sundays.
The present church on Front Street has its origins in 1844 when the first stone of the temple was laid. In 1933 he raised the need for expansion and this was carried out and completed on May 30, 1952.
The Netherlands Antilles, also known as the Dutch Antilles, was a constituent Caribbean country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands consisting of the islands of Saba, Sint Eustatius, and Sint Maarten in the Lesser Antilles, and Aruba, Curaçao, and Bonaire in the Leeward Antilles. As a group they are still commonly called the Dutch Caribbean, regardless of their legal status. People from this former territory continue to be called Antilleans in the Netherlands.
Saint Martin is an island in Leeward Islands of the Lesser Antilles in the northeastern Caribbean, approximately 300 km (190 mi) east of Puerto Rico. The 87 km2 (34 sq mi) island is divided roughly 60:40 between the French Republic and the Kingdom of the Netherlands, but the Dutch part is more populated than the French. Divided since 1648, the northern French part comprises the Collectivity of Saint Martin and is an overseas collectivity of the French Republic. The southern Dutch part comprises Sint Maarten and is one of four constituent countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The flag of Sint Maarten consists of a white triangle situated at the hoist charged with the constituent country's coat of arms, along with two horizontal bands of cherry red and navy blue. Adopted in 1985 shortly after the territory was granted a coat of arms, it has been the flag of Sint Maarten since 13 June of that year. Since the dissolution of the Netherlands Antilles on 10 October 2010, it has been the sole flag used in the constituent country.

Nicole de Weever is a dancer and choreographer from Sint Maarten. After completing her primary schooling in the Caribbean, she moved to the United States, completing education. She has performed in film, on television and appeared on Broadway in the musical Fela! during its initial run in 2009 and reprise in 2012, after a world tour. She was honored as a cultural ambassador by the government of Sint Maarten in 2009.
