Both became functionally extinct in the 19th century when they were replaced by modern Hiberno-English. The name "Yola" means "old" in the language.

Clonsilla or "Clonsillagh" is a civil parish and a townland located in the south-western corner of the modern county of Fingal, Ireland. The civil parish is part of the ancient barony of Castleknock. It is centred on the suburban village of Clonsilla. In geology, the parish rests on a substratum of limestone and comprises 2943 statute acres, the whole of which is arable land. It is roughly bounded to the north by the old "Navan Road" – the modern N3; to the east by the civil parish of Castleknock; to the south by the River Liffey; to the south-east by the civil parish of Leixlip, chiefly in County Kildare, and to the north-west by the civil parish of Dunboyne in County Meath.

The Kilmore Carols, sometimes also known as the Wexford Carols, is a cycle of traditional Irish Christmas carols sung each year in St. Mary's Church in the village of Kilmore, County Wexford, Ireland. Numbering thirteen in total, the carols are sung during the Twelve Days of Christmas. This tradition of carol singing at Kilmore is said to have begun in the mid-18th century and has continued up through the 21st century, forming a unique part of Christmas in Ireland. According to The Journal of Music, these carols form part of the "greatest body of Irish folk carols". Beginning in the late 20th century, several individual songs from the Kilmore Carols have been commercially recorded.
