St. Tovma Monastery was a ruinous Armenian monastery located in the village of Chalkhangala (Kangarli District) of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. [1] The monastery was located on high ground in the northeastern part of the village. [1] [2]
The monastery was founded in the 10th to 12th centuries and was renovated in the 17th century. [2] [3]
The monastery was in ruins in the later Soviet period; the roof and upper walls were destroyed, but it was possible to discern the overall plan of the building, with vaulted hall, semicircular apse, and doorway in the south. [2] [3]
The remains of the monastery were still extant on August 30, 2001, however, by July 15, 2011, the monastery had been erased, as documented by Caucasus Heritage Watch. [1]

It is located 32 km in the north from the district center, on the right bank of the Alinjachay River, on the slope of the Zangezur ridge. Its population is busy with vine-growing, farming and animal husbandry.
St. Stepanos Church was an Armenian church located on the slope of a hill in the northwestern Verin Get district of Yukhari Aylis village of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan.
St. Shmavon Church was an Armenian Apostolic Church located on the right bank of the Aylis (Agulis) River in Yukhari Aylis village of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It was located some 400-600m southwest of St. Kristapor Church of the same village. It has been completely erased by February 2000.
St. Hakob-Hayrapet was an Armenian Apostolic Church located in the lower district of Yukhari Aylis village of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It was still a standing monument in the 1980s and had been already destroyed by 2000. It was located approximately 240 m northeast of St. Hovhannes-Mkrtich Church of the same village.
St. Khach Monastery was an Armenian monastery located near Unus village of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It was located in a gorge in the upper part of Vanandchay valley, on the right bank of the Vanandchay river. The church of the monastery complex was still standing in the 1980s and it was destroyed by 2000.

St. Nshan or Hazarabyurats Monastery was a ruinous Armenian monastery located near the village of Kuku of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of Azerbaijan. It was located on the slope of a hill, approximately 700m north of the village.
