Stade Kashala Bonzola is a multi-use stadium in the Kanshi suburb of Mbuji-Mayi, Democratic Republic of the Congo. The stadium was completed in 2016 and is mostly used for football matches. It serves as the new home venue of SM Sanga Balende. The stadium has 15,000 seats. [1]

Construction

The new stadium is located in Mbuji-Mayi, the capital of Kasaï-Oriental province and meets the "standards" of CAF for its measurement, lighting, safety and the seats reserved for media.

The future home of Sa Majesté Sanga Balende includes an omni-sport stadium for other sports including karate, judo, boxing, volleyball and basketball. [2]

Sanga Balende is the only club in vodacom Ligue 1, that is from Kasai Oriental, This gives them a lot of popularity around the DRC amongst the people of Kasai Districts. They have one of the biggest fan base around the country. The club is based in the city of Mbuji-Mayi.

Jonas Mukamba Kadiata Nzemba is a politician from the Democratic Republic of the Congo and former CEO of the state-run diamond company. Between August 1965 and October 1968 he was governor in turn of South Kasai, Kasaï-Oriental, Équateur and Orientale Province. He was again governor of Équateur Province between 27 August 1980 and 19 March 1983.

Tshilenge District

Tshilenge District was one of the districts of former Kasai-Oriental province (1966–2015) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. While it enclosed the city of Mbuji-Mayi, the city was administered independently. As specified under Article 2 of the country's 2006 Constitution, in 2015 the district was merged with the city of Mbuji-Mayi to form the new province Kasai Oriental. The capital of the province is Mbuji-Mayi.

The University of Mbuji Mayi (UM) is an accredited private university in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, located in the province of Kasai-Oriental, city of Mbuji Mayi. The university is one of the many initiatives by the "Fondation Cardinal Malula". The UM, exists alongside other institutions of higher learning such as the C.U.M. People mostly mix these two different and separate entities. At its creation, the C.U.M was an Extension of national public universities" amongst which the University of Kinshasa, the University of Lubumbashi and the University of Kisangani. The 2017–18 Linafoot season is the 57th since its establishment. Linafoot is the top-flight association football league of DR Congo in Africa. The season started on 11 November 2017 and ended on 14 July 2018.

The 2018 Coupe du Congo is the 54th edition of the Coupe du Congo, the knockout football competition of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
