Stampax is a live album by the English glam rock band Rachel Stamp. It was recorded during the band's 2000 Hymns for Strange Children tour and released on 1 September 2000 on Cruisin' Records.
Stampax was originally intended to be a live recording of just one gig from the Hymns for Strange Children tour, but due to the demand from fans for more rare material, the band recorded other gigs for the album. Another title proposed for the album was Old Enough to Bleed.
Originally issued as an “Internet Only and Mail Order” release that was only available through the official Rachel Stamp website, Stampax wasn’t issued to stores as a single CD until late September 2002. The album was also released as a special bonus CD with the limited edition version of Hymns For Strange Children . It is currently out of print.
Stampax was mastered and edited by Max Bisgrove, who had previously worked with David Bowie & Iggy Pop.
The live album features an original take on Bad Company’s “Feel Like Makin’ Love”.
Live outtakes from the album can be found as B-Sides to the "Hey Hey Michael You're Really Fantastic...Live!" CD single and "Monsters of the New Wave" CD and 7" Vinyl singles. These include live versions of "I Got The Worm", "Spank", an early version of "Black Cherry" and a cover of Johnny Kidd and the Pirates' "Please Don't Touch". [1]
The Moldy Peaches are an American indie group founded by Adam Green and Kimya Dawson. Leading proponents of the anti-folk scene, the band had been on hiatus since 2004, but in 2023 announced they would be reuniting on Twitter. The appearance of their song "Anyone Else but You" in the film Juno significantly raised their profile; Dawson and Green made a handful of reunion appearances together in December 2007.
The 411 are an English girl group comprising Carolyn Owlett, Tisha Martin and Tanya Bryson. The group was formed in late 2002 after Martin and Bryson sang backing vocals on Lemar's version of Al Green's "Let's Stay Together". The 411 took its name from the Mary J. Blige album What's the 411? (1992). The group released one studio album, Between the Sheets, and three top-forty singles before disbanding for the first time in 2005.
Imperial Teen is a San Francisco–based indie pop group made up of Roddy Bottum, primarily on guitar/vocals; Will Schwartz, primarily on guitar/vocals; Lynn Truell, primarily on drums and backing vocals; and Jone Stebbins, primarily on bass and backing vocals. Imperial Teen became known for its boy–girl harmonies and for all four members switching off and on instruments during shows.
The Blue Aeroplanes are an English rock band from Bristol, the mainstays of which have been Gerard Langley, brother John Langley, and dancer Wojtek Dmochowski. All three had previously been members of the new wave "art band" Art Objects from 1978 to 1981.
Rachel Stamp are an English rock band formed in London in 1994. Their debut album, Hymns For Strange Children, was released in 2000, followed by Oceans of Venus two years later.
Hymns for Strange Children is the début album from London-based glam rockers Rachel Stamp. It was released in 2000 on Cruisin' Records. Recorded by John Fryer in as little as two weeks, Rachel Stamp's debut album was a long time in the making. After Rachel Stamp were dropped from WEA in 1997, the original debut album, Fight the Force of Evil, was in serious doubt of ever seeing a release, but the band released a string of hit independent singles, all of which appear on this album.
The Detroit Cobras are an American garage rock band from Detroit, Michigan, which was formed in 1994 by guitarist Steve Shaw, guitarist Mary Ramirez, bassist Jeff Meier, drummer Vic Hill, and singer Rachel Nagy. The group was later known for a constantly changing assortment of musicians. Rachel Nagy died on January 14, 2022.

"Turn the Page" is a song originally recorded by Bob Seger in 1971 and released on his Back in '72 album in 1973. It was not released as a single until Seger's live version of the song on the 1976 Live Bullet album got released in Germany and the UK. Gruppo Sportivo are a Dutch pop band from The Hague, formed in 1976, who enjoyed a measure of international success in the late 1970s and 1980s. They had hit songs with "Hey Girl", "Beep Beep Love", "Tokyo ", "Disco Really Made It" and "Rock 'n' Roll". The frontman and writer of the material is Hans Vandenburg. The band went on hiatus in 2013. Early 2018 a reunion was announced consisting of a tour and a new album called Great, which was released to critical acclaim in April 2018. In 2022 the band returned with their 25+ city The Spotify Tour, in which they performed their 25 most streamed songs in reverse order.
Sweet Shop is a limited edition compilation of rare and unreleased recordings by London-based glam rockers Rachel Stamp. It was released in 2004 via Rachel Stamp's official website and sold at gigs around the UK. The album features the unreleased WEA album, Fight the Force of Evil as well as an assortment of B-sides and unreleased demo tracks by the WEA era line up of the band. The album is currently out of print.
Now I'm Nailed to Your Bedroom Wall, I've Only Got Myself to Blame is a compilation album by London-based glam rockers Rachel Stamp. It was released in April 2009 via Serena/Cargo Records. The album takes its name from the lyrics of the Rachel Stamp song, "Pink Skab".
"Hey Hey Michael You're Really Fantastic" is a song by Rachel Stamp, released as the second single through WEA. It was released in August 1996 on three formats, CD single, Limited Edition 12" vinyl of 1000 copies and cassette. A promotional video was also made to promote the release. The song is the only Rachel Stamp track to be released twice as a single, with a limited edition live version of the song being issued in 2000 during the band's "Hymns For Strange Children Tour" of the UK.
"I Got the Worm" is Rachel Stamp's second release via their own "Bitch Vinyl" imprint. "I Got the Worm" was produced by John Fryer and Rachel Stamp. Like the "My Sweet Rose EP", this single also features two tracks taken from the band's unreleased WEA album, "Fight the Force of Evil", as B-Sides. A promotional video was made for this release.
"Spank" is a single by London glam rock band, Rachel Stamp. This single was the first release via the Cruisin' Records label, an independent record label set up by the band's manager, Sil Wilcox, and distributed across the UK by Pinnacle. There was no promotional video made to promote this release; however, a live video of "Spank" later appeared as a bonus multimedia track on the "Black Cherry" CD single.
"Didn't I Break My Heart Over You" is a single by London glam rock band, Rachel Stamp. This single was the band's second release via the Cruisin' Records label, and reached Number Three on the NME Independent Singles Chart in February, 2000. The single was released on two formats two weeks prior to the release of the "Hymns For Strange Children" album and featured two songs left over from the album recording sessions - "Black Tambourine" and a cover of the Warren Zevon song, "Carmelita". There was no promotional video made to promote this release.
"Monsters of the New Wave" is a single by London glam rock band, Rachel Stamp. This single was the band's final single release via the Cruisin' Records label and received the Single of the Week in Kerrang! magazine, October 2000. The single was released on two formats and a promotional video for the single was filmed by Paul Harries. The single was also released across Europe through Raw Power Records with a different track listing and artwork.
Therapy is the debut studio album by English musician Jim Lea, best known as the former bassist and songwriter of the British rock band Slade. Although Therapy is Lea's first solo album, he had previously released material as singles under various pseudonyms since the early 1980s.
Live in Concert 1977 & 1979 is a double live album by the English hard rock band Bad Company, released on CD and as an mp3 download in 2016. It is an archival album with recordings taken from two concerts from their tours in 1977 and 1979. Disc one contains material from a concert at The Summit in Houston, Texas on May 23, 1977. Disc 2 contains material from a concert at Wembley Arena in London on March 9, 1979.
