Star Guard Muffin also known as SGM is a Polish band formed in Brzeg in 2008, and suspended in February 2012. It consisted of vocalist Kamil Bednarek, guitarist Szymon Chudy, keyboardist Radek Szyszkowski, bassist Kuba Wojciechowski and drummer Maciek Pilarz. The band is widely associated with reggae music, including roots reggae, ragga and dancehall.

History

Early years

The band was formed in Brzeg in May 2008. Their first performance was as opening performers before EastWest Rockers' concert in club BigStar in Brzeg. In September they took the first place on Rock Reggae Festiwal in Brzeszcze.

In August 2009 Star Guard Muffin won Grand Prix at Festiwal Artystyczny Młodzieży Akademickiej in Świnoujście. In the same month they performed on Second Days of Youngsters in Dobre Miasto.

Breakthrough

The band reached media attention in September 2010 after Kamil Bednarek's participation in the third series of television show Poland's Got Talent , where he placed second. In November their debut album Szanuj was released. It reached the top places of OLiS chart. In December it became golden and in January platinum. The album turned out to be one of the fastest selling since the beginning of the 21st century and became the second bestseller of 2010. Over 70,000 copies have been sold so far.

In April 2011 the band visited Jamaica where they worked in the legendary Bob Marley's studio, Tuff Gong in Kingston, with the best known reggae artist on minialbum Jamaican Trip. Released in June 2011 and completed with DVD containing behind-the-scenes footage and music videos, placed third in OLiS chart.

On July 9, 2011, Star Guard Muffin appeared on Billboard magazine's Uncharted list of at number four. [1] The same month, the band performed at Jarocin Festival. In August 2011, they appeared at Ostróda Reggae Festiwal and received an award of magazine Free Colours for the debut of the year.

In February 2012, it was announced that bassist Kuba Wojciechowski decided to leave Star Guard Muffin and the band was suspended. Kamil Bednarek decided to continue playing with keyboardist Radosław Szyszkowski and drummer Maciej Pilarz under the band name Bednarek, and the line-up was completed by guitarist Piotr Bielawski and bassist Piotr Stanclik. Koniec Świata

Koniec Świata is a Polish musical band which plays a mixture of punk, rock and ska music. The band was founded in 2000 in Katowice by Jacek Stęszewski who has been the only consistent member of the band from its beginning. They have issued six albums so far: Korzenie (Roots), Symfonia Na Sprzedaż, Kino Mockba, Burgerbar (Burgerbar), Oranżada (Orangeade), X-lat (X-years) and Hotel Polonia. The "X-lat" album is a 10th anniversary compilation of their greatest hits.

Quebonafide Polish Rapper

Kuba Grabowski, better known by his stage name Quebonafide, is a Polish rapper, singer and songwriter. Member of the duos Yochimu and Taconafide. Founder of the record label QueQuality. With over 350 thousand albums sold, he is one of Poland's best-selling rappers. His biggest success thus far - the Soma 0.5 mg album, recorded with the rapper Taco Hemingway - has sold more than 150 thousand copies. Also his solo album Egzotyka proved successful, selling over 150 thousand copies. His albums have repeatedly won the status of platinum, gold and diamond records. The rapper has authored such hits as 'Candy', 'Bubbletea' or 'Tamagotchi'. Five-time nominee for the Fryderyk award, with one victory for Soma 0,5 mg in the Hip-Hop Album of the Year category. In 2018, his album Egzotyka was nominated for Empik Bestseller award in the Polish Music category.

Ave Maria is the fifth studio album by Polish singer Maria Peszek, released in 2021 by Mystic Production. Peszek co-wrote and co-produced the material with Kamil Pater. Thematically, the album criticises Poland's conservative politics and child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, and expresses support towards women's rights and the Polish LGBT community. Peszek described it as "probably the most beautiful album [she has] ever recorded". Ave Maria received generally positive reviews and debuted atop the Polish album sales chart.

The Rock is a studio album by the Polish progressive rock band SBB. The album was released on 29 October 2007 by the label Metal Mind Productions. It was the band's first album with drummer Gábor Németh, previously a member of the groups Scorpió and P. Mobil. The album reached No. 30 on the OLiS chart in Poland.

Karol Poziemski, better known as Solar, Słoneczny Solar, and Bogaty Ziomek Tomba is a Polish rapper, freestyler. He is a two-time finalist of Wielka Bitwa Warszawska, and the initiator of the Hot16Challenge and Hot16Challenge2 actions. Karol Poziemski is mostly known for his duet performances with Mateusz "Białas" Karas. He also conducts solo artistic activity.
