However, Janos Pasztor ..former top climate adviser to then-U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, asked by the company to review its activities, never advocated for the use of solar geoengineering. "Strong rules would protect against several unpalatable but plausible scenarios [Pasztor hoped] including one in which “a billionaire who has very strong relationship with the government” — most likely the U.S. government — might just try it without any discussion or input from the global community." SDS has not disclosed the chemical composition of its material, though the company has promised to begin engagement with the scientific community in this regard in 2026.
