Startin' Somethin' is the first and only album by Scandal'us, the winners of the second series of the Australian version of the talent program Popstars . It was released on 7 May 2001 and reached number two on the Australian Albums Chart.
Startin' Somethin' was recorded in early 2001 while the Popstars program was airing on the Seven Network, and the show included footage of the group in the recording studio, laying down vocals for songs. It was the group's only album before disbanding.

Hear'Say were a British pop group. They were created through the ITV reality TV show Popstars in February 2001, the first UK series of the international Popstars franchise. The group, who were signed to Polydor Records, originally consisted of Danny Foster, Myleene Klass, Kym Marsh, Suzanne Shaw, and Noel Sullivan.
Bardot was an Australian pop girl group which formed in 1999, consisting of Belinda Chapple, Sophie Monk, Sally Polihronas, Katie Underwood and Tiffani Wood. The group formed on the Australian reality television series Popstars, which attracted high ratings and significant media exposure. This resulted in the instant success of Bardot's debut single "Poison" and debut album Bardot (2000), both which entered the Australian and New Zealand charts at number 1.
Thriller is the sixth studio album by the American singer and songwriter Michael Jackson, released on November 29, 1982, by Epic Records. It was produced by Quincy Jones, who previously worked with Jackson on his 1979 album Off the Wall. Jackson wanted to create an album where "every song was a killer". Popstars Live was an Australian music talent show television program similar to Australian Idol that aired on the Seven Network in early 2004. It was an evolution of the original Popstars TV show which aired between 2000 and 2002 on Seven. The show spawned a single and album that made the ARIA charts in April that year.
Scandal'us were the winners of the Australian Popstars 2 in 2001. They won an ARIA chart award for their No. 1 debut single "Me, Myself & I". Their second and final single, "Make Me Crazy", only reached No. 30. Their debut album, Startin' Somethin', debuted and peaked at No. 2 on the ARIA Albums Chart. The group disbanded in 2002.
Scott Cain is an Australian singer and TV presenter. In 2002 he won the third Australian Popstars TV talent competition. His debut solo album, Controlled Folly, peaked in the ARIA Albums Chart top 50. Its lead single, "I'm Moving On", reached number one on the related ARIA Singles Chart. While competing on Popstars, the Final 7 contestants released a compilation single with each providing a cover version of Stevie Wonder's "Superstition", which peaked at number seven. His wife, Danielle Stearman, was a fellow contestant on Popstars, the couple have two children together.

It is the opening track of the album and was released as its fourth single on May 9, 1983, by Epic Records. It was written and co-produced by Jackson and produced by Quincy Jones. The lyrics pertain to strangers spreading rumors to start an argument for no good reason. "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'" evokes the disco sound of Jackson's previous studio album, Off the Wall, released in 1979. The song is characterized by a complex rhythm arrangement and a distinctive horn arrangement.
Tamara Jaber is an Australian recording artist who rose to fame in the early 2000s as a winner on the hit TV show Popstars. She was a member of the pop group Scandal'us. Following the disbandment of Scandal'us in 2002, Jaber signed to record label King Kyle Records and released two solo singles "Ooh Ahh" and "Hard for Me". In 2007, she became a member of the pop duo Scarlett Belle, before resuming her solo career in 2011. Jaber released her debut extended play Felt, Not Heard through US independent label in November 2012.
