Pete Wilson is a bronze sculpture depicting the Governor of California of the same name, installed outside San Diego's Horton Plaza, in the U.S. state of California. The statue, which cost $200,000, [1] was dedicated in 2007. [2] Approximately 500 people attended the ceremony. [3]

John Coles Book Shop

John Cole's Book Shop was a bookstore in La Jolla, San Diego, California. It was founded in 1946 by John and Barbara Cole on Ivanhoe Avenue, and moved in 1966 to the Wisteria Cottage at 780 Prospect Street. The cottage had housed Ellen Browning Scripps' half-sister Virginia, and La Jolla Country Day School, prior to becoming the location of John Cole's Book Shop. Susan and Charles Cole, the daughter and son of John and Barbara Cole worked in the book shop as did Susan's daughter Trilce and Charles' son Zachary. Zachary sold harmonicas in the book store. Parties were held for numerous authors over the years. The La Jolla Museum of Contemporary Art lent sculptures to John Cole's Book Shop which were displayed on the grounds.

Silver Strand Training Complex

Silver Strand Training Complex South (SSTC-S), formerly known as the Naval Radio Receiving Facility (NRRF), is the premier training facility for U.S. Special Operations Forces. Located between Imperial Beach and Silver Strand State Beach near San Diego in southern California, USA, this facility was known by locals as the "elephant cage" which is a nickname for the large Wullenweber direction finder antenna. The antenna was used to provide direction finding, primary communication links for U.S. Navy submarines. The antenna was finally dismantled in 2015, even though it was scheduled to be removed in fiscal year 2007. Presently the area is part of Naval Base Coronado and commanded by that base's Commanding Officer. While just north of Imperial Beach, it is within the city limits of Coronado.

The squadron is headquartered at Marine Corps Air Station Camp Pendleton in Southern California and falls under the command of Marine Aircraft Group 39 (MAG-39) and the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing. A statue of Christopher Columbus by Mario Zamora was installed in Chula Vista, California's Discovery Park, in the United States. The statue has been vandalized multiple times. It was removed and placed into storage in June 2020.
